“First Class Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I always read Tripadvisor reviews when I'm researching hotels and sometimes get suspicious when the reviews seem too good to be true. The Aren Suites was far better than I thought, based on the website. The location is perfect, about 5 minutes from the Blue Mosque. We had a triple room which was spacious with cupboard space, two chairs and coffee table, and a desk. The airconditioning was excellent, cooling the room most effectively. The shower was large and powerful. There were tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. I especially liked the egg salad and the yogurt. Afternoon tea with cakes, bisquits and rolls was self serve. There was always someone around to fetch some milk or whatever else was needed. Service was always with a smile. The view from the rooftop terrace was fantastic: Blue Mosque in one direction and the Marmara sea in the other. Note: wear earplugs to bed otherwise you'll be woken up by the muezzin call to prayer in the wee hours. My mom had a single room (202) which was very small but clean. She inadvertently left her dental plate in the room when we checked out. A quick phone call was all that was needed for the manager to forward it by courier to our hotel in Athens, asking them to hold it for my mom's arrival 10 days later. The parcel was in Athens and when my mom opened it up, the fragile dental plate was more securely wrapped than anything I've ever seen. They went to a lot of trouble to ensure that it arrived in one piece and it did. If we're fortunate enough to visit Istanbul in the future, we'll book into the Aren Suites right away. No need to look for any other hotels to compare.

Room Tip: We had a triple room (404) so there weren't many options. We faced the street and I was initiall...

We booked two suites at the Aren Hotel and all generations (from grandma to granddaughter) were pleased with the stay. If you like what you see about this hotel online, then you will be in for a surprise: one of the rare places that actually looks better and delivers more when you visit in person than what is shown on the website. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, with lots of local delights. Finally a hotel that serves a decent coffee in the morning. You get pampered in every way, friendly staff and management go out of their way to help and understand your issues. Great experience.

This superbly run hotel could not be better located. Situated directly behind the "Blue Mosque" in a quiet little street, one soon became to feel a real part of the local surrounds.
The hotel was well appointed with wonderful views. The breakfasts were just what you needed to get you off to a great start each day. All staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and always prepared to go that extra distance. Value for money was first class with a location that could not be bettered.

such a warm, family run hotel. From our arrival we felt so spoilt by the staff, always smiling and willing to help with any request at all, our room (on 4th floor) was very comfortable, great view through other buildings to the sea. The terrace took our breath away each time we ventured up from morning with our breakfast to relaxing afternoons after long walks to after dinner drinks. The atmosphere on the terrace was wonderful as we watched new people experience the view of The Blue Mosque for the 1st time, it made it so easy to open a conversation with fellow travellers ! Would love to return to Istanbul and again stay at this lovely (incredibly close to all the tourist attractions) hotel.

Lovely hotel well situated in a quite part of town near all the tourist attractions. Very nice spotless, air conditioned rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Also liked the free transfer to the hotel from the airport. You need it since it is in a maze of back streets. Breakfast is either inside or on the rooftop (your choice). Impressive views of the river and city from the rooftop terrace. Also provide afternoon tea at no additional charge (nice touch). Definitely recommend.

The hotel is very well located, 5 min walking to Blue Mosque, Hagiasophia and others. The entire staff is very helpful. At the checkin we were given a fast brief of all the touristic spots and an transportation card for cheaper public service. When I said they should have a restaurant at the terrace (great view of the Blue Mosque and Marmara Sea), they offered to order food for us. The room is new and clean.

Me and my wife stay here for 4 days and had a great experience. The staff ( Ilker, Mehmet, and Ahmet) were very attentive, helpful in ensuring that we were comfortable. The rooms were big, the beds were very comfortable, clean. The rooms were also quiet. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a beautiful way to start the day. The location was perfect too all the main sites in the old city.
