“Great Safe Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

I stayed here with my son while visiting Istanbul. I was shocked at how safe I felt in Istanbul and even more safe at this hotel. We spent our whole time in Sultanahmet and from this hotel you just walk up the street to Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia. If you are worried about the current crisis in Istanbul it is far away from this location on the other side of the Bosphorous. I have an allergy to eggs and Metin made us special food for breakfast without eggs. Breakfast was great with fresh squeezed juices. They are extremely thoughtful and caring at this hotel. There is a major taxi stand one door up so we were immediately off to the airport when we needed to be. If you want home away from home this is it.

Room Tip: First room off of office on ground floor is very quiet with two single beds.

I stayed this great hotel between 12May and 17 May with my family. I had a great time. Staff was very courteous. Rooms are cleaned every day. The location is very good. Very close to the tourist places. If you chosing this hotel, you can spend a relaxing holiday.

If you are looking for excellent service, extremely caring and conscientious proprietors while enjoying fresh squeezed orange, apple or mixed juice with your homemade breakfast while smelling the jasmine in the tranquil garden then this is the place for you. You'll find charming rooms seeped in history and staff that will tell you where to find the real Istanbul eateries (check out the Asian side, Kadikoy Ciya Kebab).

We spent two nights in the standard double and found we needed more space so were moved to a bigger triple at no additional cost. We then decided to splurge for the last two nights on the wonderful Sultan Suite (highly recommended).

We are still thinking about breakfast and our only regret was not getting a picture with the amazing team that makes the stay heavenly. Thank you, Ishak!

Room Tip: It's worth spending a little more for more space and bigger bed!

What a find ! This property delivers on its promises, is very well located near Istanbul's attractions and is well priced. The staff are great and help you understand how Istanbul works. The breakfast was cooked freshly and a group of us that met at the hotel had a wonderful dinner cooked by the proprietor. The rooms are adequate, quiet and very clean.

We had the corner room which is more spacious than some. All very clean and a comfortable bed. A very friendly welcome and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with freshly squeezed juices, yoghurt, savoury and sweet pastries, eggs and other tasty treats. Great position for sightseeing. The courtyard with sweet smelling jasmine is a lovely place to relax with a beer. Thank you Mitem and your team.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We just completed a four night stay at this hotel, and were very pleased with it. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, and things were very quiet, despite the hotel being on a fairly busy road that had large numbers of tour buses using it during nearly all the daylight hours. Our room, listed as a standard double, was very small... but it did appear that most of the other rooms were a bit larger. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom quite modern. The breakfast was great, probably the best we had in Turkey with a good selection of freshly made items. The location was ideal - just a short (uphill) walk to the main sites (Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque), though the road was very busy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, all of which combined to make this a great value and a great place to stay. Just don't expect the modern luxury of one of the big chains.

Room Tip: I'd recommend one of the rooms on the back of the property to avoid the road noise.
