“The only place I want to stay in Istanbul”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

I've stayed at the Taxim Suites Hotel 4-5 times. The last time was in 2010, before coming back again this time in June 2012. I absolutely love this hotel. It's not your normal kind of hotel, it is more like having your own apartment but in a hotel. All of the rooms are a great size and have a living room, a bedroom, and a kitchen. YOu really feel like you are at home. The TV works great as does the WIFI ( which is of utmost importance to me). It is clean and well-kept. The location is fantastic if you want to stay in the new part of the city, right near Taxim Square. It is close enough to Taxim Square (across the street) and to Istikal Street, but far enougb away that it is calm and peaceful. There is a restaurant downstairs called Faros, with free wifi and great foood and service and behind the hotel there is a maze of streets closed off to most traffic and you'll find lots of good restaurants there, making it very convenient. The staff are all wonderful, courteous, and professional, and the manager ZEYNEP is amazing. This really is the only place I want to stay in Istanbul for having that feeling that you are in your own "home".

I make a business trip in istanbul for 7 days. I saw on the internet there is an offer with attractive prices in Taxim suites. and when I stay at Taxim suites, my choice is correct. Very good location, very close to taksim square, metro and bus terminal. Very easy to find places to eat and shop. In addition, room in taxim is incredible. Very large compared to the hotel, there is a clean and comfortable living room, there is a kitchen equipped with cooking utensils and cutlery are complete. I can also use their own laundry facilities in basement. And they have a friendly reception staff. I highly recommend to stay in the Taxim suites when visiting istanbul.

Situated near Taksim Square, arrive from both major airports by the reputable Havas Bus (find outside airports arrivals area, pay on bus 10-15TL, exit bus at taksim, go north away from the square on Cumhuriyet Caddesi, 2 minutes walk towards Divan Hotel, on the left at traffic light). If taxi doesn't know Taxim Suites, ask to go to Pointe Hotel in Taksim, cross the road and find hotel entrance next to Faros restaurant. Can't miss it. All taxi's are metered and start at 2.70TL during day.

Within 1 minute walk from the hotel is Faros restaurant (provides room delivery), convenience store, currency exchange, a park, good local restaurant, a known sushi restaurant across the road in Pointe Hotel, and a taxi stand there as well. A 5%-10% tip is customary at restaurants. Within 10 minutes walk is the entertainment area, which is where all the shopping, restaurants, bars, and lounges can be found. This is where you want to be if you are looking for the nightlife. Something is happening there all day and night, and is great fun. To get there, exit hotel go right until you get to the square statue, pass on left side of it and follow the sea of people into the main street. Istanbul is a very large city, but Taksim is more-or-less located centrally to all the major tourist attractions on the European side.

The building and the rooms have been renovated. The lobby is staffed 24 hours and the area is relatively safe for a big city like Istanbul. The staff speak English well, and are extremely attentive, willing to go out of their way to be helpful so feel free to ask kindly.

I stayed in two different rooms, the Miyako Suite and the larger Park Suite. Both rooms were spacious and had all the amenities expected in a quality apartment hotel; full kitchen, including free wifi, dvd player, sound system, satellite flatscreen tv, and central air conditioning. Both had jacuzzi bathtub and toiletries provided. SMOKING was allowed in both rooms, and the windows opened. The Miyako Suite had a tasteful Asian theme, a bit smaller bathroom and living-room. This room stack is located off the busy street which made it a bit quieter. The street outside is loud all night, even with soundproof windows, it couldn't always drown out the sirens and horns. Noticeable but acceptable. The Park Suite room has a contemporary design and is a bit larger and noisier. Both rooms were well maintained and pleasant to spend time in, especially if staying for longer periods of time (I stayed two weeks).

My only complaints were that my room card key sometimes wouldn't open the door. The staff would reset the door which took 5-10 minutes. This happened 3 times during my stay in the Park Suite. Annoying especially late at night and tipsy. Hopefully this problem was fixed by now. The fitness room is very basic so I didn't end up using it as intended. Also the elevator is small so might be issue for some guests. Other than those somewhat minor issues everything else about the stay was excellent. Well worth the money.

Overall if you are looking for a quality apartment-style hotel located close to public transport and near the nightlife, along with great service at a fair price, you will not be disappointed. Happy Travels!

Room Tip: Miyoko Suites stack is quieter.

Briefly not bad at all for Taxim area but improvements are needed.
The good : price, space is very good, convenient location next to metro station and Taxim square, small kitchen is a plus with dishwasher ,clean And daily room cleaning is excellent.the cable tv is nice with DVD if you get yours for the kids .we liked the jacuzzi as well.personnel are nice .
The not so good: The Airconditioning was not working on arrival and temp was 40 deg ( rooftop with sun blazing on it ) . Took an hour to fix one small AC and few hrs to fix the central one , got barbecued for few hrs .... Then all went OK. Hot water was broke on the second day, also fixed it in a couple of hours waiting to shower to go to bed .the breakfast is decent for the non-picky. The elevator is small . Inspite of all, the kids were happy .Some noise from the street probably less for the penthouse compared to lower levels. There were a smoking smell that appeared only at night coming from the bathroom that was really bothering and had to turn on noisy fan suction all night.
The View is beautiful .
All in all, not so bad for the price .ASk that the the AC is running before arrival and check all appliances as well . Will consider booking in it again for single ,Buisness purposes .

Room Tip: Get the AC running beforehand , choose roon not facing the park at lower levels due to noise . If no...

I stayed in Miyako suite. I like apartment hotels for the illusion of living like locals, and Taxim Suites is a great example of that kind of hotels. Myiako is on the first floor and watching busy street life of the morning Istanbul was an additional bonus. Street noise was not so disturbing as the small but cozy bedroom was separated from the sitting room with kitchen. Location is great, service excellent. Foros restaurant offers great breakfasts (at least for those who is not used to eat heavy hot meals in the morning), and the dinners there was also quite good (food is excellent but a bit over-priced for Istanbul even with 15% discount provided to Taxim Suite guests). Last but not the least is the connection to the airport (Ataturk) - shuttle buses stop just cross the road, 10 liras and 30-45 min of comfortable trip (depending on traffic).

4 of us attended a wedding in Istanbul and most of the out of town guests stayed at taxim suites, around 20 of us. Our room(avenue suite) wasn't ready for us when we checked in at around 3 am, so they gave us 2 rooms, the Miyako and park suite. They were so accommodating that it could have been normal business hours by anyone's standards. I don't need to post any pics because the rooms are exactly as shown on their site. They moved us into the avenue suite the next day, and we had no problems with 4 of us in the suite for 9 nights.
The location is awesome and although Faros restaurant is super, there is a fantastic home style Turkish restaurant across the street with eat in or take away for a real authentic Turkish meal. I accidentally forgot my jacket there and Teoman from the front desk ran across the street and retrieved it for me. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Our friend had the best wedding that I could have ever imagined!

If you want to stay in the Taxim Square area and avoid the noice, Taxim Suites is a great choice. Beautifully decorated in a modern japanese style, our Miyako Suite was spacious and cosy with full amenities and free wifi, just the apartment I'd wish to have back home! The staff was very friendly and helpful, ready to answer any questions, make reservations for us etc. No need to upload any photos cause it is exactly as shown on the website. I definitely recommend it.
