“Good hotel next to 4 levant metro station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Stayed for five nights in first week of October. Good points first. Well connected through levant metro station. Moving around in metro saves time and money especially in peak hours. Hotel is next to istanbul sapphire which has a deck on top to have a lovely view of the city. A couple of malls are near by to spend some time. Rooms are good and big. 16th to 19th floor are good, a little pricey but gives you free drinking water and an access to lounge where you can have drinks and snacks.
Bad points.Hotel staff wants to help but not all of them. My booking was for a king room but was given queen. They should honour the booking or compensate but nothing of that sort happened.
Breakfast buffet is good but the cutlery was not properly clean and looked unhygienic at times. Take care to choose them. Take seat preferably in the front so that you are attended nicely. They put their best staff for the front seats!
Overall a good hotel in a historic city.

First of all I would like to thank you very much for taking the time and commenting on our services; we really appreciate it and value our esteemed guests' opinion such as yours very much.

Your feedback encourage us towards our aim to deliver, heartfelt, genuine care, personalized and uncompromising service in all guest interactions. These comments such as yours are the best tool for us not only to maintain but further improve our quality and service.

I have most certainly shared your comment regarding the bed preference with our Front Office Manager. I would like to inform you that we have only king size beds and twin beds rooms, we do not have queen size beds in any of our rooms.

Regarding the cleanliness of the cutlery I have immediately informed our Chief Steward regarding this unwelcome problem. Immediate action will be taken to provide flawless hygiene. Your kind feedback regarding our service staff at our AzzuR Restaurant, I have informed both our Food & Beverage Manager and our Training Executive. Our personnel will furthermore receive daily and weekly trainings to provide excellent service to our guests. Thank you for pointing these issues out to us.

It was and will always be our pleasure to ensure your comfort and I look very much forward to welcoming you back at the Mövenpick Hotel each time you visit Istanbul.

It was really enjoyable stay at Movenpick Istanbul, so comfortable, so quite, service and staff is really 5 stars.... restaurant, wellness center, men and women beauty salon, internet is good. in addition to the location it is very very good, too many shops and shopping mall near from you and the metro station was very close to the hotel and it is directly take you to Taksim...
value of money was fair enough with such a nice stay....

Finally I strongly recommend this hotel to whom want have a great stay in istanbul and sure I will take my place at this hotel for my next visit to istanbul.

one more note: this is not my first visit to Istanbul and I was stay at too many hotels before in Taksim, Atakoy, Sultan Ahmed but this hotel is the best choice for an excellent stay.

I stayed at this hotel in October 2013. The hotel was lovely, the decor was nice and the room was very comfortable.
I had a terrible view from my room which was a shame.
The traffic in Istanbul was terrible so it took forever to get anywhere from our hotel!

I am most sorry that the hotel's location has been an inconvenience to you. Our hotel is right at the 4. Levent district underground (metro) station. Most of our guests are pleased that they can bypass the traffic in this way, since the underground connects us in 10 to 15 minutes to the Taksim Square area, 5 to 10 minutes to the Mecidiyeköy station where you can prefer to take a Metrobus either to other destinations on the European side or the Asian. To reach the Asian side the Metrobus takes only 20 minutes. On the other hand during rush hours in the morning and late afternoon as most world metropolis, Istanbul has a major traffic problem indeed. There are heavy investments on improving public transportation.

It was and will always be our pleasure to ensure your comfort and I look very much forward to welcoming you back at the Mövenpick Hotel each time you visit Istanbul.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. Checkin was quick without any hassels. We had the twin sharing rooms, standard size, very comfortable. Need to be careful when you want to make a cup of tea in your room, there are 2 sets of tea bags/coffee satchels, one is complimentary and the other is charged. The hotel is a little off the tourist area, however the metro station is right next to the hotel. So going to Taksim square is easy, but if you want to get to the tourist area, then you will have to change to the funicular for one stop to connect to the tram that will take you to the monuments in the Seven hills area. There is a mall right next to the hotel , very handy in case you have forgotten the essentials. Their breakfast spread is pretty good and if you plan to checkout early in the morning , then they have tea and some eatables served as early as 5am. Wi-fi is available in the lobby and also has a desktop which you can use for a quick connect.

We stayed at the Movenpick Istanbul for 4 nights and it was a great experience. As usual I will write an objective review to show all the pros and cons:

1- Reception: quick, efficient, Mr. Ramazan received us with a smile and made sure to address our every need. He went out of his way to find us a room on a high floor two hours earlier than our check in time and offered us an upgrade, which we didn't take, as it was a bit expensive. Check out was just as pleasant and in fact they also allowed us to check out two hours late at no cost.

2- Room:
Pros: Modern, clean, got all amenities, beds and pillows very comfortable, TV selection is good, the room is quite large compared to standard sizes in Istanbul.
Cons: Not many but there is no iron in the room if you wanted to iron something quick. Also the bed frames are hard wood sticking out therefore we kept bumping into them. Also there are two types of tea bags available, one premium at a cost and one local that is complimentary, so you might want to pay attention to which one you are using.

3- Area:
The hotel is located in the Levent area which has so many shopping malls, cafes, restaurants. Walking around was pleasant. A supermarket and a mcdonalds were right outside the hotel if you want to grab some water, snacks, or fast food. There are several bus stops outside the hotel as well as a metro station.

4- Proximity to airport:
It took us 30-40 minutes back and forth with taxi depending on traffic, and cost around 60 TL. The hotel gives you a card that has approximately how much the taxi fares are to key destinations such as airport, shopping, taksim, etc.

5- Hotel Facilities:
The hotel is large, modern, has all facilities you may need and they look quite new and clean. Also restaurants serve excellent world cuisines

6- Breakfast & Internet:
Breakfast is not included with room. Internet has two options, free and paid. The free one gives you a complimentary one day pass at a fair speed of 2 mb. The paid package is 3 days for 20 euros at speeds higher than 8 mb, very good connectivity doesn't drop. We used the package then the free one on the last day and both were great we didn't feel a difference for serving and watching youtube etc.

7- Housekeeping:
Housekeeping were on time everyday and had good quality control and consistency in service. Whatever you ask you get with a smile. When you call housekeeping they speak good english but the ones that come to room don't, however we were able to find a way to communicate with a bit of turkish and english and sign :) and they just are very pleasant and smiling always.

Verdict: Definitely recommended. Prices are reasonable. Service is immaculate. Just few touches of improvement like adding an iron in the room and maybe doing something about those bed frames. We will always come back to the movenpick.

Room Tip: Top floors are always nice for the view

Our Housekeeping provides iron and ironing boards upon request and deliver these to the guest rooms. Our Guest Relations, Front Office or Housekeeping teams will be happy to provide these for you. On the other hand, both the iron and ironing board and your comment about the bed frames I have noted on our list of renovation needs. This will be most assuredly presented to the Executive Committee.

Stayed here while visiting ITU. Room was excellent: cool, dark, quiet. Staff helpful.
Had room service breakfast; Greek option for TL39 is excellent (they charge TL65 in the restaurant unless you specifically tell them).
Metro is very handy (turn immediately right out of the hotel, keep right along the road. a couple of minutes However getting to the tourist bits involves a couple of changes (one token each time) and it can be a squeeze so not good if you come for tourism.
Supermarket and MacDonalds handy if you're desperate.
You pay for WiFi in standard rooms, but it's a fair price.
