“Galata bridge, a memorable place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

We had the chance of serving one cup of tea in lower stage of Galata bridge in 25 february, this year. It is a memorable place although the weather was cold in that night, about 1:30 Am. In the restaurant building, there was a live music + dance but single men were not allowed to enter, only couples or women. This is a good policy for families attending this type of music although we were beside of sea and cold weather, but the vie was fantastic specially with music playing behind of us.
Above this bridge you can find fishermen at nights and also fish Kebab on ghary.

You really know you are at the Gates of Asia on this bridge.

The constant movement of ferries coupled with views of one of the most vibrant cities in the world really packs a punch.

Relax in one of the bridge's cafes with a shisha and watch the world go frantically by.

“Don't miss the fish sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

There's a lot happening at Galata Bridge but make sure you get a fish sandwich straight off the boat. Fresh fish straight off the grill, lettuce and onion in a roll. Add some lemon juice and salt and eat sitting at one of the little tables and stools. Delicious and about AUD3 each.

“Active space”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014 via mobile

Ok, so I didn't imagine i'd review a bridge, but in some ways this is more than a bridge. Sunday morning and it was a hive of activity from the usual street traders (slightly inflated prices) to dizens of people fishing to tourists and locsls crossing from one side to the other. And to yop it off, great views in every direction.

“the roads of the city will take you there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We run into that bridge after visiting Taksim and walking down the beautiful Istiklad street.
The traffic is high on the road, but you can walk by side and take nice photos. Plenty of people are fishing.
You can also go down near the see level and take pictures, see the boats and enjoy the view. Also you can walk in this level, there are also restaurants to sit, but I personally didn't like those at all. The whole bridge is used a lot and is dirty.
You will and up in a very busy square. It is not beautiful nor clean but all these people make it interesting. There everyone, mostly locals, is sitting and eating a sandwich with fish, salad and onion, sold in three boats. Try it if you fill like it.

An underground underpass will lead you to Yeni Cami and the entrance of spice market.
