I very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom nice, and the internet reliable. And the room safe was large enough for my laptop and other stuff. The staff is incredibly friendly. My only "complaint" is that the breakfast was across the street, but the view from the dining room terrace more than made up for that.

The location is a short walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque; there are shops and restaurants along the street, and I felt very safe at all hours.

Bottom line, I felt it was worth every dollar and I plan to stay here again when I get to return to Istanbul.

Room Tip: I was alone, and was placed in a room street-side. The upside was the bright morning sun to help me...

Me, my fiancée and our yorkie puppy stayed in the hippodrome hotel for 5 nights in the end of November . We are so pleased by our choice that it turn out better than expected ! The room was lovely, clean, with a wonderful view, warm, providing all the services needed . The staff was very welcoming, really helpful and kind and always there when we needed something. We owe special thanks to the receptionist Kemal for helping us out with anything we asked for , always being very welcoming and cheerful ! All the staff was very friendly with our dog and made us feel very welcome which is something we really appreciated . The hotel is very well located right in the back of the blue mosque and right next to Aya Sofia . It's walking distance to pretty much everywhere and the tram station taking you to the airport and centre is literally 5 mind walk from the hotel. Around the area you can find lots of lovely places to have a meal or a drink and the area is very safe and quiet . We definitely recommend it and we are definitely coming back next time we visit the city !

Location - Amazing, You just literally walk to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia & Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern from here.

Cleanliness - Rooms are cleaned daily, fresh towels & the hotel is neat

Size - The hotel is very small consiste only 26 rooms, but the room we stayed was quite nice and spacious , we requested for a double bed , but on the first night we were given a twin bed (R. No 303) and the next day we were moved to a room with double bed (R. No 203).

Facilities : Tea , Coffee in the lounge - 24 hours with some nice sofas to sit and relax , Wifi (works well in lounge , but slow in rooms), Rooms have chairs and table to sit , tea/coffee maker, mini fridge , shelf and hangers for clothes, side tables.

Bathroom - Hair dryer, towels , Bath with Jacuzzi

Though the bath was very small , I am 6feet tall and struggle to fit in the bath , but Jacuzzi was good , nice to have after a long day sight seeing.

Breakfast - It's not in this hotel - You need to go to another hotel (Azad suites - Sister hotel) , just across the road...

Same options daily, but it's good..

The hotel is also located near to tram, so you dont need to take any taxi , you can just walk from the tram to hotel.

Tram to Hotel :
Get down at Sultanahampet tram station, Exit towards the mask side.. walk down and on your right you can see blue mosque towards your left you can see hagia sophia.

you need to walk down the lane and at the end turn right (you will pass cafe mesele) then take first left and walk straight.. hippodrome will be on your right.

A good hotel to stay.. One disadvantage - There seems to be no generator, so if there is a powercut , there is no alternate options, but we dint mind...

Staffs(Reception,Cleaning & Lobby) are friendly and helpful.. they dint ask for any tip at all , which was quite surprising.

Also this hotel is close to Arasta Bazaar (Mini version of Grand & Spice Bazzzar)

Room Tip: Go for a doube room and the bed is really big..

I stayed here for 3 nights in October 2014. First of all, the location is brilliant. This was main reason for choosing it, and I wasn't let down. It is just a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque. The area itself is quite touristy and there are many hotels and restaurants on the street. As I was staying on the second floor, this was a bit annoying as I could hear and see the noisy restaurants from my room. This would probably be less of an issue higher up in the building. The room itself was more than adequate. It was very clean and tidy (cleaned every day) and the bathroom, whilst small, was nice and everything worked well. On a minor note, the tv didnt work and on a bigger note the wifi was very temperimental, even though I had 4 of the hotel's networks in range. The breakfast provided was very good and there was plenty to choose from, although it was a fairly simple range. The view from the breakfast roof terrace was amazing and provided a nice start to the day, overlooking the Sea of Marmara or Blue Mosque on the other side. Staff were fairly friendly and helpful, although barely spoke with them. I would say staying here is a good idea, as its very accessible for tourists and there are any tourist services available, such as airport transfers. A downsde though would be the lack of amenities. This place is simply rooms and a lobby, with the breakfast area in a seperate building. Therefore, whilst i do recommend, I think it is a little small, and if you're like me and like to relax in the hotel sometimes, but not in your room, there is no choice.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on a higher floor, to avoid the noisy street.

I was in this hotel 6 times. I am traveled with my friends and family. Friendly staff, standard rooms, the best is location. Breakfast is in another hotel on the roof and very nice view and amazing atmosphere. it is very difficult to explain, but that place gave me a lot of good positive emotion. Hotel is located in old part of Istanbul near Blue mosque and Sofie cathedral. Grand bazaar is just 12 min walk from hotel. Taxi to shopping around 15 EUR. By street train 3 EUR. Don't need to pay a lot for hotel enjoy atmosphere around hotel.

Room Tip: there is best rooms on second floor for English first floor.

We stayed in the apart hotel hippodrome for 8 days and had such a great experience. The receptionists were extremely caring and so was the cleaning lady. We could come home to spic and span bedrooms and bathrooms, the only problem was the clogged shower. Amazing location, amazing breakfast with an amazing view and an amazing atmosphere! Thumbs up!
