“A nice nest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

Naz Wooden has a strategic location: from the breakfast terrace you can admire Blue Moschea! Also Aya Sophia, The Cistern and Topkpaki Palace are 5 minutes by foot!
Naz is a nice and friendly place to stay, staff members are very kind and helpfull.

We stayed in April 2013. Great location, very helpful staff, Available drinking water was a huge plus. Room we stayed in was small but comfortable, bed is a little hard for our likes. Wifi signal was great. tea and coffee was available in afternoons which was nice when you needed some quiet time (as there is no such thing in Istanbul). Small boutique hotel so way more personalized service. You are close to quite a few mosques (which is probably a similar situation everywhere) so make sure your window is sealed shut or you'll have a lovely wake up serenade at 5am every morning. NOTE: If your not a sound sleeper bring ear plugs. There was a stray dog that barked continuously and ran up and down the streets for two nights in a row. Felt very safe! they lock the hotel from door and you have to ring to get in.

Room Tip: we stayed in the cheapest room - it was totally great! just small.

We had great stay in Naz Wooden House. Extremely helpful and polite staff made our stay very enjoyable with useful tips. Location is fantastic, in a small old İstanbul street, only 5 minutes walking distance from main tourist attractions as Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia. We had small room but it was quite clean and fourhished. We did't mind it as we used it only for sleeping. We had street facing room , it was noisy during day time but it was ok at night. I can  recommend this place to anybody who will visit İstanbul...

I think Naz Wooden House Inn is an excellent hotel.
It is very very close most, if not all the attractions in Istanbul, the tram line and the Grand Bazaar, so essentially its great all round. The staff is exceptionally helpful with everything from touristic attractions to finding out who can help with visa problems. Elif and Hakan are 2 great examples of phenomenal staff members and I hope everyone who stays here gets the opportunity to meet them. Anyway, the only thing I did not like was that the breakfast was the same every single day we were there, which is okay if you are staying a couple of days, but if possible, scrambled eggs or omelettes or other things instead of a standard boiled egg, but otherwise, I like that they kept it very Turskish in true spirit, having olives, dried apricots and other European traditions with tea and cake; so very much appreciated. In summary... best choice for tourists looking for a place to stay in Istanbul!

We actually booked a room in a different hotel (Deniz Houses, 10min walk from Naz), but they had some problem with a water pipe and gave us a room in their 'sister' hotel.
Our general impression - Naz is a small (7 rooms or so) and homely hotel.
The room was small although comfortable and clean. Unexpected bonus was a roof open terrace with a wonderful view over the Bosphorus one side and to the Blue Mosque on the other. Breakfast was good and the people on reception always friendly and very helpful.
Maybe the only disadvantage came from the outside - there is a shop over the street which started pop music every morning, and the dogs were barking and howling, especially after the mullah calls to prayer via the loudspeaker from a nearby mosque. On the other side of the hotel building there is a railway line, but I'm not sure whether any room window there; if so, there must also be noisy sometimes.
Naz hotel is situated very conveniently if you plan to walk in Sultanahmet, view Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace or Mosaic Museum.

Room Tip: See the review.

I really enjoyed staying here - the room was clean and comfortable and the staff really friendly and helpful. And it's near to everything, including a fabulous fish restaurant. The noise of the trains didn't bother my husband but it disturbed my sleep and drove me crazy. I look haggard in all our photos! A shame, as it means I probably wouldn't stay here again, although everything else was great. May not bother you...

Room Tip: Largest room is downstairs but noisy from trains and not very private as just off reception

This is a lovely little hotel. The staff are terrific - they have lots of useful information they're willing to share and can't do enough for you. It's a quirky space, so don't expect run of the mill box hotel. We had a very large room, Room 4 - it faces out to the train tracks but we didn't find that a problem. The hotel has a great roof terrace and it's very clean - excellent location for the sites of Istanbul. I found the beds a little hard but my husband thought they were fine. The linens were soft and fluffy. Homey and friendly.
