“Rooms need updating.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

We arrived at this hotel late at night at the end of October and stayed for two nights. After a long travel time, one just wants to be very comfortable and rest. I read quite a number of good reviews about this hotel and had reasonable expectations, so it was such a disappointment when we entered the room on the sixth floor. It was very small, a bit dark, and just okay. It had one small chair with stained upholstery and one would not want to sit on it. The bathtub was also extremely high and very dangerous to get in and out of. One has to be very careful and definitely would be difficult for older people. Some refurbishment is definitely needed. Breakfast buffet was pleasant and reasonably good. They had coffee-making facilities in the room and there was free wifi.

Upon our return to Istanbul, we were already booked once again at this hotel for one night. This time, we were placed on the second floor. The room was the same size but significantly more pleasant in terms of lighting, cleanliness (no stains on the chair) and bathroom facilities (the bathtub was not too high). As it was stuffy like the last time, we had to keep the window open ( airconditioning was not working since it was the "cold" season) but because of its proximity to the ground floor and entrance to lobby, some residual cigarette smoke was bothersome.

I would not stay in this hotel again since the condition of the rooms are not standard.

We stayed here on the last night of our 13 day Turkey tour. The hotel was very nice and clean and close to the shops. We had a few drinks at a local bar not far from the hotel followed by a meal in the restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed!
This was a nice way to finish off our tour.

I enjoyed my staying at this hotel. Besides its good location, which is near interesting sites in old city in Istanbul, Ramada is a very nice & clean hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a wide range of food. Though the room was a bit small, it was clean & cozy enough. Those factors make this hotel a nice place to stay when visiting Istanbul...

I was treated with such kindness I felt like family and such attentiveness that I felt like an honored guest even though I'm a nobody. The staff was just amazing. If you have never been to Istanbul, these people will make you feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel, I've never had a better experince than here and I travel frequently.

I stayed for 1 night in this hotel during my holiday in Istanbul this spring and my room was in the strategic location with view to Fatih Street and Old City over there. Near the hotel, there is a small bazaar. The room service was night as well as the foods.
