“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Do not hesitate to book your self in this superb hotel with excellent location, services & staff, their services are prompt they are very professional, you feel that you are protected and taken care of by the staff, I had a bad experience with a restaurant that was suggested to me by the reception, and I informed the management by an Email, they immediately called that restaurant and protested on my behalf. The breakfast is excellent, the level of noise is very low thanks to the double glassed windows. In short I will book my self to this hotel in my next visit

Room Tip: Ask about wider room they can give you ones with the same price of a smaller rooms

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

I was a bit nervous prior to going, as the "real traveller" pictures on Tripadvisor didn't look great and I was under pressure to book something in quickly. Luckily I was wrong! We arrived at 4:30am and were looked after by the free transfer offered by the hotel. Thankfully the hotel was able to check us in although they put us in a room on the first floor corner facing the MAIN ROAD with 6 lanes of traffic plus trams. Half their rooms face the main road - just the way its built. We tried to get to bed but was woken several times hourly at 6am, 7am, etc from the traffic and noise and ambulances passing until finally we dragged ourselves up at 11am.

When we went downstairs and asked for a room change given the noise levels, we were refused because they were "fully booked". We approached their desk at noon! Most guests wouldn't have even checked out or started arriving yet!

The good thing about the hotel is that yes the Findikzade tram stop is right under my room window, although the bad thing about it is that its a good 20-25 minutes to where all the action is in the old city! And if you then want to go to Taksim or the Asian side, you have to go further away still for ANOTHER 20 mins. Public transport shuts down by midnight so you will have to taxi back all the way down to the old city to get home if you're out in Taksim for the trendy bars, restaurants, clubs etc.

The shower was super powerful, super functional and also the packaging on their products make it look like household cleaning products, it was the best hotel hair conditioner I've used to date! In fact their spa downstairs uses the same products on their clients when they go for Turkish baths. The bed was also very, very comfortable (it looked quite plank-like in some photos but it was fine!). Yes the "hairdryers" from the 70s definitely need replacing.

Onto the baths - at first I was apprehensive because the spa was EMPTY upon arrival. Then a massive guy comes out - the masseuse - and when asked if there was a female therapist for me, he said he was a "professional"! I wasn't going to go ahead with it but when I saw the work he did on my partner, I asked him to wash me too. He was truly a professional! We only wished we did the traditional turkish bath there the first day, because we would've went back daily. It was about 30 euros per person, which is probably more expensive than what you'd get in the city, but if you're a first-timer I would DEFINITELY recommend you do it here first to ease you into what a traditional turkish bath is all about!

The hotel only offered one way free transfer so we caught a taxi to the airport ourselves which was much cheaper than the quoted rate from the hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor facing away from the main 6 lane road

we stayed there for 6 nights the staff were very nice and cooperative , the breeakfast is good with lots of varieties and great view but if you think the price 15 euro is to much you can have breakfast in the coffee shop downstairs or in another local coffee shop few steps from the hotel
the hotel was offering one direction delivery to airport when you stay more then 3 nights which was also a good thing , as everybody mentioned the location is central and the tram station is in front of the hotel the only thing bothered us is that we could not control the a.c tempreture
and a last tip for you don't take a room in the 6th floor because you will be disturped by the noise of the moving tables since breakfast is in 7th floor

My wife and I stayed at the Ramada Old City for 6 nights. Nice modern room albeit a bit small. The view is the main street with Findikzade tram station. The location is superb - food is easily available mostly Kebabs (which were really great, anyway). Forget about the spa there - you can easily find other spa in town for cheaper.

Comparing to price and service really poor. Their Ramada standard that guests can not visit the rented room is definetely more then poor....Parking is big problem. For non/smoker are the rooms torturing, because many rooms was used from smokers before..

Very nice modern rooms, slightly on the small side. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Right across the tram station that is very convenient, with shops and restaurants everywhere.

Very cosy bar in the lobby.

we had stayed at the talises as part of our package and found that there were no toilet rolls nor soap and towels in our room, we had to repeatedly request these....no staff to be found on the floor. breakfast was average and for dinner we had chicken wings and salads, who in the world has chicken wings for dinner as part of hotel dinner..very disappointing...will not go there again and i had sent a note to the group leader metin and in it wrote of my views...not recommended....
