“My favorite mosque in the city - magnificent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Chances are, you will have seen this mosque from any hill or vantage point in the city before you actually make it inside. The main courtyard directly beyond the entrance and interior are simply breathtaking. I spent a good amount of time inside, just observing people and taking it all in. This is a truly impressive mosque.
To all foreigners: I highly recommend wearing something that will cover your shoulders and knees (if you don't have something, they will give you a used item of clothing to cover yourself up when you get there.) Also bring a scarf so that you can cover your hair. Be aware that women are only allowed in certain sections and that you must take off your shoes in order to enter. Be respectful - very quiet (as people will be praying throughout the day), and make sure you adhere to the dress code.
Not to be missed!!

“Magnificent Mosque”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

This new mosque (although built in 1597) still looks absolutely beautiful.

This mosques has 66 large and small domes. The view of this mosque is just simply amazing. It is a gorgeous site and can be easily seen from any hilltop in Istanbul.

“Don't forget a head scarf to be into”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

I visited the place but it was not my best to disturb people when they were praying. Of course, hundreds of people were into, too. A head scarf is a must to visit it and shoes out, too. A bad smell from feet were around...

“What an amazing place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

I loved this mosque. Not having a map, I thought it was the blue mosque until I realized it was the New Mosque. It's quieter and less crowded, as beautiful and right by the Galata bridge and spice market!
