I stayed here for 5 nights and had the best room in the hotel. My first two nights were in 102 facing the Sultanahment mosque then i was moved to the terrace room 301 facing the mosque as well. Room 301 i would say the best of all. I have the rooftop terrance on my own.
The room is not that small compared to other hotels that i have stayed in Istanbul. I love the wooden floor and the squeeky sound because it reminds me of traditional houses in Malaysia. Each room was nicely decorated with a unique painting. Breakfast was decent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was excellent and connection was very fast. No elevator, quite small stairs (tip - bring your backpack and not the big wheel luggage, it is going to be difficult to carry it around this area). Room 301 is however located at the Kitchen/pantry at the rooftop so in the morning you can hear guests walking around and you might want to close you curtain, otherwise they can practically see you!
The location couldn't be better. Many restaurants around the area, cafes, Arasta bazar (a superb alternative to the Grand Bazar) is just in front of the hotel, small supermarkets, gifts shops, banks and super easy access to the tram and tourists attraction such as Ayasofya, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern and walking distance to the Grand Bazar.
But if you want a quiet time, this hotel or in that regard the Sultanahmet Old City area might not be the best for you. This place is packed with tourists and non-stop of sufism songs were played from the restaurant in front of the hotel. Calling to prayers is five times a day with loud speakers. One should expect this if wishes to stay closer to any mosque anywhere, not just here.
Overall, i love it! The best hotel experience so far. Very affordable, superb location and fantastic view.
