“SMALL ROOMS & NEAR TAKSIM SQUARE--FAR FROM OLD CITY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We stayed here because it was selected by the travel agency who arranged our land tour.
The rooms were small. A/c did not work well.
Since we had dinners included as part of the tour we ate in a separate dining room. The food was good but small portions.
Breakfast buffet was good but foods were not labeled and the servers did not speak much English.

Reception desk staff mostly did not speak English but there seemed to be on English speaking staff member at the desk most of the time-problem was he was very busy answering all the needs of the English speaking guests.

The bell men were very helpful but could not understand or speak English.

Most of our days were touring the sights in the old city and since this hotel was in the NEW TOWN. District we spent at least 45-60 mins to go from the hotel and again ot the way back to the hotel

If you are interested in seeing the blue mosque, grand bazaar etc I recommend staying at a hotel in the old city. Taking public transportation is complicated or one can take a cab.

I mistakenly gave a rating on spa and fitness room - they do not have either and I could not erase the rating.

Room Tip: Try ad get a room on the left side of the lobby as they seem newer than the right side

I can tell you about this hotel from two different angels:
Location :
1.Perfect. Just about a 5 minutes walking away from Istiklal street ,
2. There are plenty of cafe and nice restaurant.
3. the street are all pedestrian with no entry of the cars.

Hotel Istself:
1. Not spacious rooms . they are very small.
2. Its an old hotel with small bathrooms
3. The breakfast is too much but with less variety.
4. the lobby is dull and small.
5. Furniture is old.

But I found the staff very friendly.

Room Tip: if you are enjoying exploring the city by BUS or Subway , they are both 3 minutes walk away from th...

I was booked on this hotel by choice of company for four nights, and I#d loved to run away when I saw the rooms. Stains from questionable activity everywhere: on the bed, on the chair. When I complained, they showed other room, which looked same. Third room same. So housekeeping was called to change everything, and next morning I checked out. This is the worst hotel I saw in the last years - and I have some 100 roomnights per year.

hello dear , i have been there in this hotel couple of weeks before now , it have really a nice place since it is one of the hotels in the center of istanbul and you can reach any where from taksim by metro or funicular or bus ... but in general it was an old hotel to be a 4 star hotel and also the decorations where old , and the worse thing in that hotel that they have very small rooms for two persons or a child with two persons , it deserve to be single rooms , with very small bathrooms , no indoor swimming pool or it was not working for that time , another point is that the front rooms where too noisy if you open the window .. but to be in bright side also they had very good reception persons and they were helpful most the time , nice and good breakfast ... so i think it was better to be a 3 star hotel

Used this hotel as a stopover between connecting flights, and although this was courtesy of the airline, it was not a good experience!

Firstly, this is not a 4 star hotel, it is, at best a 2 star. The standard of cleanliness is poor with very questionable stains all over the room. The rooms are dated and walls very thin. I was at the end of the corridor, but could still hear the constant noise of the elevator pinging, over the sound of my neighbours.

The staff were less than helpful, when I complained they sent up a bell boy, who's body odour took some time to dissipate after he left and obviously couldn't do anything about the noise problems.

I'm unhappy now, so had I booked this as part of my trip, I'd be insensed.

Avoid if you can, there are far better chains in the same area!

This is not 4 star hotel because of cleaniless and staff. But the breakfast is very good and top. Loby was not good and fancy , decoration is not new. Please reveiw about decoration and the size of rooms. Rooms are very small for 2person .
