“Remarkable Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

My 83 year old mother and I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel located in the historic area of Istanbul. The hotel is remarkable in several ways. Not only did the staff at the hotel extend to us a degree of respect, graciousness and warmth that I have not experienced anywhere else in my travels but this was also extended to us by the shopkeepers and restaurant staff within the hotel vicinity. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant with magnificent views of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace Museum at one end and the Bosphorus at the other end. The meals were lovely and very affordable. My mother and I were easily able to walk to the abovementioned monuments along a charming cobbled street filled with a variety of quaint and interesting shops. We shared a standard twin room which was of medium size, spotlessly clean and which had all the features (including a bath) and luxury items that you would expect. On our last morning at breakfast, a late check out time was offered to us, without the need to ask, as our transfer to the airport was for later in the afternoon. I would have no hesitation is recommending this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Medium but adequate sized room with all amendities one would expect

Great hotel with fabulous restaurants and shopping nearby. Friendly staff and beautiful rooms.Wifi worked well and breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. Close to most of the important historic sites. We would definitely recommend the Yasmak Sultan.

Very convenient location within walking distance of major sights. The staff were friendly and efficient and extremely helpful. The room was small but we would go back if we visit Istanbul again and upgrade the room choice. The restaurant was good, with wonderful views, though we found it more fun to eat in restaurants. If you eat there the Fig Delight dessert is to die for!

I also tried the Hammam Experience which was lovely.

Room Tip: Upgrade as the standard rooms are small

Great hotel in an excellent location in the old town part of Istanbul. Just a few moments walk from all the main attractions including the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Grand Bazaar. Very good roof top restaurant "Olive" with spectacular views over Istanbul and the Bosphorus. We eat their on our first night and found the service and food to be of good quality and reasonable price. Breakfast is also severed in the Olive Restaurant which is very good and consists of cereal, fruit, and yogurts to start with cold meat and cheese platters and an excellent variety of fresh bread. There were also various hot items plus a chef offering individual orders of omelettes and waffles. The main difference with this hotel over many others was the staff that went out of the way to help on every occasion. Nothing was too much trouble to arrange and Zumre in particular was excellent and she offered advice on what to do, where to go, restaurants, costs of taxis etc, all done with a smile on her face each morning. The rooms are on the small side but on a city break you don’t spend much time in them, however they did offer all the amenities you could want including free wifi in the bedroom. The only thing the hotel could do to improve is perhaps make the bar area a little more inviting but that is really being picky. Overall a great choice of hotel for a short break to see the highlights of Istanbul which I would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room as the breakfast is served in the roof top restaurant.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Yasmak Sultan Hotel. Location very close to major sites. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms and the staff were outstanding. They gave us spot on advice about things to see and do and booked everything for us.

It was also close to other restaurants and outstanding value. We will definitely stay here again when we come back!

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at the Yasmak Sultan Hotel in the old town. It is the perfect location. Walking distance to the main attractions. 5 min walk to Topkapi Palace, 10 min to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. There is a tram stop at the end of the street approx 150 metres from the hotel and the little side streets around the hotel have lots of great cafés and restaurants. Our room was a corner room with a large bay window, queen bed, 2 comfy lounge chairs and was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also spotless and the large luxurious white bath towels were a treat. An extensive Breakfast is served on the roof terrace with views one one side of the Bospherous and Hagia Sophia on the other. We had just come from the Hilton in the new town and much preferred the Yasmak Sultan. The staff were very helpful and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes to soak up the local atmosphere.

Room Tip: The corner rooms have big bay windows and let in lots of light and sunshine in the afternoons.

Excellent location, service and hotel facilities. Fantastic view from the roof top terracce where the breakfast is served (included). Our room was a bit small, but had everything we needed. We did not try any of the two restaurants.
