“Excellent hotel, great rooftop restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Armada hotel in March of 2010. The hotel was beautiful. There is even a fountain with turtles in the lobby. Rooms were excellent. We had an inner room and it was quiet. The breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant located on the roof was amazing. So much food to choose from and all delicious. On one side of the roof you have a beautiful view of the Blue Mosque and Haga Sofia. On the other side is a wonderful view of boats on the Bosphorus.
Staff was very helpful with transportation to the airport. Cheaper than a regular taxi.
The only drawback was the area. The hotel is superb but some nearby buildings are in very bad shape. A bit confusing walk to get places but if you have a map or ask the staff you should have no problem. About a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest train station.

Very good price for a location ON THE BOSPHOROUS near top sights, very clean, attentive service, and wonderful rooftop terrace with great views and great breakfast. The standard double room was too small so we switched to a deluxe with a small sitting room and a view of the Bosphorous. The decorating could use some pizzaz but the bed was superb and the bathroom very large. We were very happy.

The hotel is situated just five minutes away of the Sultanahmet Square, giving the visitor the ability to admire two magnificent buildings (Aghia Sophia and Sultanahmet Mosque), at one glance, from the exquisite terrace of the hotel. Ideal for the visitor who intends to spend some time at the historical peninsula of Istanbul. Within walking diastance from the Topcapi Palace and the Kapali Carsi, the famous Istanbul market.

The hotel is in a quiet location just off the main road into Istanbul and close to the railway station and a number of important historical sites. It is well situated to visit the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, the Basilica cistern, the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Market. The restaurant was pleasantly situated on the top floor of the hotel giving lovely views of the sea as well as the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya whilst eating breakfast. We had an evening meal there which was pleasant but not outstanding. The rooms were comfortable and kept very clean. Overall I would use the hotel again especially if visiting european Turkey.

I have stayed at the Armada 3 different times throught Dec 2010 and Jan. 2011. Every detail of the motel is consistant in the way they treat their guests. We traveled all over Tr. and this was definetly a place I looked forward to coming back to. My last stay in Jan. was solo. I felt very comfortable and the staff were wonderful in helping me with taxis, currency exchange, and any other kind of information I asked them for. They have good wireless service and the rooms are so cozy. We stayed in some expensive motels during my visit but by far the Armadas beds were the most comfortable of any. The breakfast is something you just can't miss. Thank you Armada

This affordable hotel felt luxurious. It was spotless - yet cozy and welcoming, complete with cotton robes, scuffies and crisp impeccable linens, with a comfy bed. We slept well. Our original plan was to stay at the Armada for a week, tour the south Aegean coast, and then return to Istanbul and stay in a different neighborhood - but we came back to the Armada because it was so lovely. The restaurant, with a lavish morning breakfast spread, has incredible views of the Marmara Sea, the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. We dined there one night as well and it was wonderful. We came to love this place. They also have several apartments available... with access to the breakfast spread included, which we'll look into next time, just for variety. We also benefited from the service provided by Mr Osman, Guest Relations. Mr Osman has a comprehensive knowledge of Istanbul and he was of great assistance to us on several occasions. We thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel.
