“Best breakfast ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

This hotel has a charming location on the bank of the Bospheros, and with view of Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosk from the roof terrace. The reseption staff is rather unfriendly, and the beds are hard and uncomfortable - as in most hotels in Turkey. But the breakfast is worth it! The excellent selection of cheeses, nuts, dried fruits, honey, yogurth and tomato omelet and other genuine Turkish dishes is the perfect start to any day. The staff is really nice and the view is magnificent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Nice, older hotel with adequate rooms, facilities for some days stay in Istanbul. The breakfast -often praised here- is very nice and a variety of food makes a good start for the day.
Services of front desk personnel depends on who you'll get. The guest rel. officer miss Ipek Sensilay is really of great help for everything (except for the recommandation for the Suleymany hamani).
The location from the Armada is excellent, right behind the mosks in the old Sultanahmet area.
The tramline takes you quickly to other main areas. The room-cleaning personnel goes all the way to give you a welcome feeling. We enjoyed our stay here (family of 6 - 3 rooms).

The Armada Hotel has quite comfortable, if not small, rooms. The real treat is the roof restaurant where you can have breakfast or dinner and gaze upon the water of the Bosphorus or the Blue Mosque, just blocks away.

Room Tip: Inside or on the street... both seem quiet.

The location is good close to cankuturan train station that gets you direct to eminonu where u can find all urban transportation and skip the burden of istanbul taxi. This is a big advantage

And the hotel is perfect except the price but compared to other hotels in the surtounding this is fine

Terrace is great with great breakfast and magnificent view

The Armada is a terrific boutique type of hotel nestled in a somewhat secondary area of Istanbul. But the location is fabulous- within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, some great Turkish Baths, and a few bazaars, including the Grand Bazaar. The views from the Terrace Restaurant are amazing - The Marmara Sea on one side, the Blue Mosque out the other. The restaurant features great food, including a breakfast buffet that will knock your socks off. Fresh squeezed orange juice every day!
But what really makes the Armada such a great spot to rest is the front desk staff. Namik (the day man) and Errol (at nights) are phenomenal. They will welcome you and take care of your every need, no matter the request or time of day. They will do all they can to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. I've seldom come across better desk staff.
The style of the common areas is very quaint and attractive. The customer service items, like computer usage, are free and easy to use.
The only problem we had in this hotel was that the walls are thin, so a lot of noise comes from the neighboring rooms and halls. Other than that, there was no other complaint. We recommend this to all our friends, and we hope to go back there again ourselves.

well located in Sultanahmet area is for sure a good place where to stay for your holidays in Istanbul. Staff has been very kind and helpful in all our requests (we were three couples of freinds). Breakfast had a wide choice of food and it is nicely located in the terrace from where you have a real nice view. It is elegant and give you a real test of turkish hospitality. The room was very comfortable. Wi-fi available. To be recommended, no doubt.
