“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Perfectly located near the Blue Mosque, Ibrahim Pasha Hotel ticked all the boxes. The staff were really helpful and accomodating and happily brought us free tea/coffee and delicious cake up to the roof terrace when asked. The roof terrace is also perfect for a cold beer while watching the boats come and go and gazing at the Blue Mosque. We didn't notice any noise from the school in our room, and loved hearing the call to prayer. Breakfast is very good and the public areas on the ground floor are delightful.

Room Tip: If going for a standard room ask for 302 rather than 102 or 402 - lovely big windows.

Boutique Hotel in Sultanahmet, just near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Not more than 30 rooms, with wonderful customer service. Fabulous rooftop bar overlooking the mosques.

Most important, everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. Made us feel comfortable, gave good advice, and were willing to take the time to chat about political, economic and cultural issues that interested us.

Very small boutique style hotel situated 50 yards from The Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque, and 200 yards from the Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern (featured in film From Russia with Love).Very friendly and helpful staff for whom no request was too much trouble. The rooms are not very large although have superb en-suite shower rooms, but are excellent for a three or four day break and the lounge areas have comfortable seats with welcoming log fires when weather is cooler and plenty of English language books with photos of old Istanbul(1920 onward) to read.
The roof terrace provides awesome views of the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorous
European style breakfast was included in room rate but there is no restaurant, however there are countless restaurants within 800 yards of hotel location all of which are desperate for your custom. The hotel also offers 10% discount for cash payers

This boutique hotel is an oasis of calm in a manic city. Located at the end of a no through road and just a minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and five minutes from the Grand Bazaar, the location couldn't be better.
Check in was very efficient and personal, a refreshing drink and an introduction to the hotel's unique map and the service throughout our stay could not have been better.
The collection from the airport we'd pre-booked was efficient and reasonable (40 Euros).
We upgraded our room and were initially a little disappointed. On the first floor there was no balcony and no view but once we were settled the charm of the place grew on us and we loved it. The bathroom was adequate, no tub but a huge shower that was in need of some maintenance given that it soaked the entire bathroom!
The included breakfast was adequate and tea and coffee is delivered to rooms free of charge but it should be noted there is no tea and coffee making in the rooms.
We'd stay here again, the location alone is worth it.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher room with a balcony if possible.

As good as it gets in the old city, if you're looking for a nice boutique hotel. Amazing location, a stone's throw away (well, not quite) from the Blue Mosque. The staff were simply outstanding, gave great advice on where we could purchase certain items. The rooms were really nicely done, very contemporary yet elegant, and nice bathrooms too. The roof top is a massive bonus, you can even order drinks up there while you take in the breathtaking view. Everything you can ask for in a boutique hotel, will definitely stay there again.

If you only have a few days in Istanbul and want to see as much of the 'headline' sights as you can, it's difficult to imagine a better location to stay than this hotel. The Blue Mosque (2 minutes), Aya Sofya (4 minutes), Basilica Cistern (4 minutes) and Topkapi Palace (6 minutes) are all easily walkable, as are The Grand Bazaar (10 minutes) and Suleymaniye Mosque (20 minutes) for even those of us who are only marginably fit! The tram stop is, at the most, a 5 minute stroll away to take you further afield.
The staff were, without exception, extremely friendly and attentive to our needs, and talked us through a map of the area as we booked in. If you've come unprepared the map they give you has suggested itineraries and recommended restaurants etc...A large and varied buffet breakfast will set you up for the fullest of days you can manage. The roof terrace has great views of the Blue Mosque and beyond, and it must be great having breakfast up here in the summer...

Room Tip: At the moment the museum opposite is being renovated, so rooms at the back are a bit quieter (Februa...

I stayed in this hotel with my 2 year old daughter for 3 nights. It was a wonderful experience.
The room was clean and very pretty. I was assisted with restaurant tips and the staff lent me some Turkish films which I watched once my daughter was asleep. The bathroom was clean and very stylish. The location was incredible, nearly opposite the Blue Mosque and perfect for sightseeing with a pram/ on foot and being close to restaurants, museums, the grand bazaar and the other sites of Sultanamet.
The roof terrace was lovely with fantastic views though I didn't go up there very much, it was too cold and a little dangerous with a small child.
Breakfast was delicious with an assortment of continental and turkish foods and endless coffee/tea.
I highly recommend this hotel for lone female travellers/ people with small children, anyone really. The staff were exemplary and showed me huge kindness.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with an infant it is useful to have a room with a sofa/TV area slightly away f...
