“Lovely Hotel, Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

What a wonderful hotel. As has been said, the location is excellent, the view from the terrace great, the historic architecture of the building warm and meaningful. But, the most crucial factor here that will bring us back again and again is the staff. They exceeded all expectations in terms of helpfulness, warmth and genuine caring. The young woman, I think her name was Bursa, who helped us knew exactly what she was doing and completely took care of us. Thank you!

We first visited Dersaadet Hotel in 2007 and have returned five times since then. Each visit just gets better and better. It is a marvellous hotel at which you will receive really marvellous Turkish hospitality. The staff are absolutely superb and all give the impression that their main objective is to make sure that you have a really wonderful stay in Istanbul. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Each time that we return we feel that we are coming back to visit old friends.

The hotel is an Ottoman style building with tons of Turkish character. It has a variety of lovely, well-appointed and beautifully maintained rooms. The corner rooms are especially spacious. The terrace, where breakfast is served and where guests can have a quiet drink or just sit and relax has beautiful views over the Marmara Sea and the Blue Mosque. It is easy to spend hours there.

In addition, Dersaadet is wonderfully located. It is within a few minutes walk from most of the major tourist attractions of Old Istanbul. The Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofia, the Hippodrome, the Arasta Bazaar and the Basilica Cistern are among these nearby attractions, Furthermore, the Sultanahmet tram stop provides easy access (especially if you buy an Istanbul Card) to the main trams, ferries and buses that take you to other parts of the city.

If you are looking for a lovely hotel that provides excellent facilities, great location, superb staff and a really wonderful Turkish experience, this is it

We were really impressed with the hotel, location was perfect and with a stunning view of the Blue Mosque. We had two different rooms there, as we extended our stay, and both were really nice. One had a Sea of Marmara view and the other a turkish bath. Both were great, and I recommend trying the turkish bath, really nice after a long days sightseeing. The terrace is truly delightful and a perfect way to spend breakfast or for a drink. The staff were lovely, very helpful and always happy to help.

Room Tip: Room with turkish bath worth a try.

Really well situated - a few hundred metres from The Blue Mosque. The very efficent tram system and tour bus stops were also within easy walking distance. Rooms were spacious and well appointed and air conditioned! A delightful roof terrace for drinks and breakfast and hear the call to prayer from Istanbuls many mosques. The reception, housekeeping and terrace team were all incredibly helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Treat yourself to the Penthouse!

The hotel is very well located few minutes walk from most important sightseeing and old town. We book a suite and having a child it came out as a very confortable choice with relaxing space after full day city visit. Staff always very helpful, breakfast on the terrace with fantastic view and clean and confortable room. Pick up at airport available as service, close to all important place to visit so you don't need taxi (I suggest to use the tram for getting in the north part of the city). A good choice.

The Dersaadet Hotel is very intelligently run to meet the needs of tourist visitors -- they think through every aspect of your stay, from a very helpful and charming "assistant front desk manager" who essentially serves as an attentive concierge to the complimentary water and fruit (always available) to the breakfast buffet with all items labeled in english to the very well organized airport pick up and delivery service. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished in traditional Turkish style, and the bathrooms are new and spotless. The rooms are not large. Also it is not inexpensive. But we were very glad that we stayed there.

Room Tip: You essentially get what you pay for -- our family had two rooms and found the 3 person suite rooms...
