“Lovely hotel in a lovely location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

I stayed 7 nights on a ground floor room with a turkish bath - although it had only a street level view, I was not in the room long enough at any one time to mind. Perhaps the only thing perturbing at times is the privacy due to the close proximity of pavement right outside the windows.
The room was commfortable and reasonably large. Even the bathroom was larger than I expected and the turkish bath with a rain shower made a welcome difference to other hotels. The amenities provided in the bathroom and room was comparable to many 5-star hotels.
All the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and even though there was a city-wide power cut on my third day, the front-desk staff was remarkably patient and polite dealing with a few irate (and unreasonable) guests.
The hotel wrote to me a week prior to my travel and provided addtional information on weather, various activities of interest in the city and availability of a museum card, which I purchased - this was extremely useful to visit several major museums at a great price and allowing unlimited access over 3 days.
The gorgeous view from the terrace every morning during breakfast made getting up early a real pleasure - I'm a yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheese, bread and honey person so the breakfast spread was more than adequate.
I loved the excellent location of this hotel - just 5-10 minutes walk from all the major attractions in Sultanahmet and tram station, yet located in a quiet neighbourhood. Even walking back late at night to the hotel did not pose any problems - I felt safe all the time.
Although the wi-fi did not work for the first couple of days, it was fixed by day 3 and workd fine.
I'm happy that the hotel delivered more than what was on their website and made efforts to improve some areas based on quests' feedback - I will definitely come back to stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are particular about privacy, then a ground floor room may not be ideal.

Hotel Dersaadet provided us with a great staff and beautiful property. 2 days before our arrival, we got an email from the concierege not only confirming our reservation but also giving us a listing of what was happening about town in Istanbul. We arrived knowing how to make the most of our stay in Istanbul. No other hotel has ever been so "heads up".
As part of the check in process, you are invited to spend time with the concierege to plan your your stay. Gozde was professional yet friendly, and pulled out her lap top to book tickets to a jazz club the following night. Much easier for her to do than for us. What a pleasure she was!
The hotel is excellently located to see the major attactions. The breakfast terrace has a view of the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara, the food above average. The room a bit small , but well appointed. The notice in the room encourages you to call if you would like harder or softer matress or pillows,. The beds had embroidered linens, the bathroom had great soaps, and alot of hot water with good pressure. WiFi worked fast in the room.
We enjoyed our stay and would choose this place again..

A very reasonably-priced hotel with excellent service.

We found that having somebody waiting for you at the airport and not having to negotiate taxis at the airport was a real plus on arrival (late evening).

I would like to add my praises for this Hotel. Gözde (assistant manager) couldn't do enough for us.
All the staff were unfailingly friendly and actively tried to improve our stay. There was the use of a laptop in the lobby (useful for pre-booking museum tickets). All rooms are wi-fi equipped.

The hotel is very centrally located in Sultanahmet but just off the main drag and we found it surprisingly quiet. 5 mins walk to the centre.

Breakfast room on the terrace converts to a quiet bar in the evening.

The hotel really contributed to what was a very pleasant stay in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Top room floor (sea view) costs a bit more. Worth it if you want to spend time looking at ships floa...

We stayed for only one night and had a good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel was renovated in ottoman style which made it look more beautiful. We got gorgeous sea view from our room window. Room and bathroom were small but good enough for our needs.
The location was central and hence a major advantage. Breakfast was also quite decent with very nice views of Bosphorus sea. I read on TripAdvisor about noise for many hotels in sultanahmet but in this particular hotel, we didn't come across any such issue.

We enjoyed an excellent service with friendly and helpful staff. you have a wonderful view from the roof terrace to Blue Mosque and Marmara Sea. Our Osman style furnished room was very clean and had a nice Hamam style bathroom. There was a free WiFi connection to the internet.

Room Tip: The Deluxe Rooms are a little bit larger (more expensive, however) and have a sea view. There is a d...

We stayed four nights in this hotel. Excellent location of the hotel near the blue mosque in a quiet street of south Sultanahmet. Service was very good and staff helpfull, Taxi hotel service from the airport is efficient and very valuable when you are tired coming out from the plane (is complimentary when stay exceeds 3 nights) Bathroom was very clean and we recommend the breakfast on the terrace with a superb view on Marmara sea.
