“Very Happy With Our 4 Day Package”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the Sokullu Pasa for 4 nights in August. We had a Deluxe Room, which was more like a lovely suite, decorated in Ottoman style.

Our package included a 3 course dinner one evening which was fabulous, 2 way airport transfers, and a half day Bosphorus cruise (average experience.)

The location is in Sultanahmet, within walking distance of all the main sights, in a quiet neighborhood (apart from the calls to prayer, but you can't escape that anywhere.)

The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied, and breakfast is served in a pretty courtyard with a fountain.

All staff were friendly, professional, and spoke English. They were always very eager to assist.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to the traveler looking for traditional Turkish accommodation with all the Western conveniences.

This may be an old venue with only 24 rooms, but our rooms are well presented, the staff are helpful, the food for breakfast was excellent; the evening meals were good authentic Turkish food.
It's location is central to most of the tourist sites in old Istanbul. A few minutes walk to the Hippodrome.
On two mornings we had to leave early for our tours and it was no bother for the staff to have an early breakfast organised for us.

We split our trip to Istanbul into two parts... staying at the Sokullu Pasa during the first part. It is in the perfect location.. close to all of the historic spots in the Sultanhamet. Daily breakfast on the terrace (included) is excellent... mixed with traditional Turkish foods and also great fruits and breads. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: If you stay on the ground floor... be prepared to be woken up by the breakfast crew... not a big de...

We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of our trip to Turkey. First impressions were of an old world Turkish hotel, not great if you want modern, however as soon as we were settled into our room we realised how nice the hotel is. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the bar in the foyer offers complimentary nibbles which was nice whilst having a cup of tea or drink. Our room faced the street and could be a little noisy if the windows were open. The restaurant where we had dinner one night was great and breakfast was good too. I would definitely come back here again!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the courtyard would be best

Location : located in Sultanhamet. All major tourist attraction are just walking distance.
Rooms : reasonably good size with good interior and comfortable bed
Staffs : very helpful and eager to assist you
Breakfast well spread with good choices.
I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel 5 nights over two periods. During that time we sampled 3 room types – standard, deluxe and balcony suite. The staff was generally helpful and friendly during both visits and the breakfast was the best we experienced in Turkey. A garden courtyard provides welcome relief after a busy day walking the cobble stone streets. Best rooms are on the 1st floor and above. Standard room is OK however like many of the hotels there is a smell in the bathroom. The deluxe room was excellent. Rooms are clean and maintained to an acceptable level. Bonus complimentary coffee/tea and snacks available at the bar.

Room Tip: Must be 1st floor and above. back rooms overlook a bar and front rooms the street however all is qu...

We have stayed at Sokullapasa each year for the past 4 years. It really is like coming home. Clean well equipped rooms. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. Walking distance to all Sultanahmet historical sites and transport. Excellent restaurant. This year we were late booking so tried another recommended hotel, we did not last one night. The Sokullupasa staff managed to find a smaller room than usual for us which was perfect. They even offered to collect and transfer our bags at no charge.
As we are in Istanbul every year we will never stay anywhere else !!!!!!
