“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Ritz for 4 days at the end of an AMA Danube river cruise. We checked in on the 3rd day of the Taksim protests. We watched tear gas and water canons from our room for the next 4 nights. Everyone else from our river cruise moved to another hotel. We were super impressed with the professionalism and security. We had a great, spacious room with access to the club floor amenities. Great pool deck and 24 hour restaurant. Best part was the service. The staff is simply the best. Everyone was wonderful and very considerate, given the proximity to Taksim. We especially want to give a shout out to Ms Deniz Guley and Ms Natavan. They were both extremely helpful and super friendly. there are other luxury hotels in Istanbul, but I don't think its possible that they could offer better service or comfort.

Room Tip: Hi up. Park view. Club access.

We stayed for 3 nights, 2 at the beginning of our Scenic coach tour of Turkey & one at the end. f the is a classy hotel the bedrooms & facilities in it all you would wish for. In the guest information folder it request visitors to be smartly dressed in keeping with the level of the hotel. We went to the garden restuarant & bar which was not really very big & were surprised to see the waiters & waitresses in jeans & trainers some with slashes in the jeans they added a white coat coat to give them the accepted waiter look. This is not what we would think would follow the guidelines set down for visitors. We went to the main restauarant for dinner & found it empty, we were the only diners. My husband had a very poor steak & after complaining the manager offered a replacement which was not accepted so he deducted that meal from the rn bill & hoped to see us the next night to ensure he had a much better one.Overall the service was very good .

I don't think this hotel needs a review, in short : if u can afford it, stay there
I stayed when there were problems in taksim square, yet the hotel was functioning as usual, going out at night was sometimes a problem, as we couldn't find a taxi back to the hotel due to roads being closed.. other than that everything was perfect.

The hotel is all about luxury.
Standard room was of normal size..
Service is top notch.
Breakfast was very nice with many varieties.
Dinner was also very nice.
two pools, outdoor and indoor.
Gym are is one of the best Ive seen in any hotel
Great location with great view.

I stayed at this hotel last week after staying at another nearby property. I don't hesitate in rating the Ritz-Carlton Istanbul a 5-star property, as it stands equal to other Ritz-Carlton hotels around the world in its amenities and service. The building itself looks slightly dated but still looks classy and charming. English proficiency of the staff was superb, and they were all very friendly and went out of their way to help.

The hotel did not provide requested bed type at check-in but offered an upgraded, larger room on the next day in addition to offering complimentary drinks at their outdoor lounge area, which has a beautiful view of the Bosphorus with a modern, trendy vibe (also has very tasty food).

One of the best features of the hotel is the hamam in the basement level of the hotel, which offers a small but luxurious Turkish bath area... perhaps not as opulent as Ayasofia but still very nice. We also enjoyed the food and service at the restaurant. The hotel's location is also great, as it is quite convenient to walk down to the tram station.

Breakfast could have been a bit better (especially the sausage), but other than this minor point, I simply cannot find anything to complain about.

This is our first time at this hotel. Wanted to say what a delight it was to stay there. The staff cannot be nicer and professional. All speak to you in English which is not so common in Turkey. We very staying during the current demonstrations, the hotel staff was very considerated and helpful towards hotel guests and injured people. The rooms are comfortable with all amenities. The Blue lounge is a delight in a sunny day. The outside spa not large however it is very private. I had a Turkish hamam the lady is very good recommended. Breakfast display is good. Excellent front of house staff. Good location with easy access from the hotel to the old part of Istanbul.

I have been to the best hotels in Istanbul before, but this hotel is my favourite. Location is close to the Bosphorus and in a short walk from the two most important areas (Nesantasi and Taksim). The lobby and the open air terrace lounge are one of my favourite. Rooms are well equipped. Side and clear view from the room to the famous bridge that connects Europe and Asia. Near a public green park. Service is excellent and staff are friendly.

Room Tip: Great Hotel, Location and service. Ask for a sea side view at high floor

Really nice hotel furnishings and decor were lovely, bedrooms are great good comfortable beds and clean toilets. The breakfast was excellent the only negative thing I would say was that I slightly surprised that they wanted to charge us extra for a bottle of Perrier water that they had on display at breakfast..
