“Had a very nice stay at this excellent hotel”

Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton when at a conference last year. The rooms are excellent and the hotel offers high class service by very friendly and knowledgeble staff.

I stayed with my family in the Club Lounge and it was well worth the additional cost. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. The extra perks such as complimentary mineral water, breakfast and nibbles throughout the day are another nice touch in the lounge floor...

My family and I (2 kids aged 8 and 5) stayed at this hotel for 10 days and had a great time. From before we arrived the hotel staff were tremendous - no ask was too hard for them! I chose this hotel because of it's pools (Indoor and Outdoor) since I needed somewhere for the kids to play after long days of sightseeing (Istanbul is one of the most fascinating cities in the world) and here's what I found.

Positives: Great location with views of the sea and also walking distance to downtown (Taksim) and also Katabas (tram to Old City). Fabulous staff and great ambiance. Fabulous indoor pool and spa. Taxis are cheap but public transporting is convenient, cheaper (kids go free) and close by.
Things to think about: The outdoor pool can get very windy and difficult to enjoy. Also, the outdoor pool is small and disappointing for a Ritz! The walk to Taksim is short but the hill is pretty steep if you have walking difficulties. Also, while the hotel is good at recommending upscale restaurants (and they are fancy) it is worth exploring other options as there are many with great location and atmosphere at a much lower cost.

Location great, but traffic and ease of access by road challenging
Ask for a room with a view of the waterway, it is spectacular

It's a poor location, you're forced to cab-it everywhere (or be up for really long walks) and you're entirely removed from the culture and feel of the city. If you want a Western hotel completely removed from the vibe of the city (with great service), then this place is for you. It felt like the crowd was all business types in suits which admittedly, is far from what I like. I imagine there are plenty of great hotels in Istanbul with a better location and more character. I will say (as is to be expected) the staff and food were great.

We stayed for two nights at the beautiful Ritz Carlton in Istanbul as part of our cruise on the Aegean Odyssey. While we would never have booked this hotel ourselves, as it is very pricey, I can see why so many do. The room was outrageously gorgeous with furniture and bedding so, so comfortable and a bathroom with every amenity one could imagine.

The buffet breakfast (which was also included in our cruise fare) was quite fabulous and had everything one might expect, but also, in particular, the best apricots I ever ate in my life.

Too bad that it was such a long walk to Taxim Square and no where near the Old City, but most of the time, we had a tour guide taking us by bus.

We spent 2 nights here before a cruise of the Black Sea. Room was excellent, very comfortable bed and loads of pillows, duvet a bit too hot, but blanket in the closet.
Water not fit to drink but bottles of water supplied at no cost. Breakfast buffet was really good and the service throughout was excellent. We ate on the terrace for two nights as they do a sort of barbecue out there and really enjoyed the meals. It was lovely sitting out and watching the ships etc on the Bosphorus. Wonderful Turkish Delight in the lobby to help yourself to, and wonderful cherry juice to help yourself to. This seemed to be available at any time of the day or evening. Checking out was really quick, but as so many people arrived at the same time, checking in was slower, but still only took about
15 minutes of waiting.
