We stayed at Angel's Home in the first part of October for eight days. This is a family run hotel ( two brothers) and it is clear that the brothers and their staff understand the essentials of running a great small hotel. The hotel itself is well located in Sultan Ahmet and is well maintained. Our room was a deluxe double with a balcony. The room was sufficiently large and appointed and the balcony, while just overlooking a backyard was nice to have. The difference at Angel's home is the people. All the staff were friendly and helpful. In fact, you could tell that they made great efforts to deal with any concern we had or to help us with any part of our trip ( such as tours, storing luggage , etc) Hakan even offered to store our luggage for a few days while we took a trip to Cappadocia even though we were no longer registered at the hotel. We kept changing our minds about how long we would stay as we tried to work out our travel arrangements and this was never a problem.
We had free meals at the restaurant and this was nice to have but their could be a little improvement here in portions and the fact that the meal was set every day as opposed to picking from the menu. I would have rather been able to use the menu and have a slight discount instead. The waitter was a great fellow and I must say all the staff were always pleasant and helpful. We were always made to feel at home. It was clear to me , when we stayed there, and also from the management responses in Trip Advisor that the owners take great pride in their hotel and will make every effort to deal with a concern if it is just brought to their attention. We would certainly recommed this hotel to anyone travelling to Istanbul.

My mother and I have just come back from the Angel's Home Hotel. We found it to have an excellent location, just a few moments walk to local restaurants and the sights. The highlight of this hotel for me was the fantastic view you get from the roof terrace, especially at night when the Blue Mosque is lit up! We stayed in the building with the reception and it is no trouble to take breakfast around the corner in their other building. Breakfast includes some fantastic yoghurt and the rather strange addition of cold chips (wasn't sure about that!) aswell as a selection of cereals, fruit, cheese, eggs etc. The street the hotel was on was very peaceful with not much passing traffic. We had a deluxe twin room which certainly lived up to the Angel name through its decoration!! The bedroom had everything you need, it was spacious, the wall paper was a little tatty in places but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a wonderfuly powerful shower and lots of extras like slippers and bathrobes. For the price, you get good value in this hotel. The terrace was not up and running when we were there but maybe this was because it was turnign wet and colder.

  • Liked — The freindly and helpful staff, the view from the roof and the location
  • Disliked — The decor needs a bit of tidying up in places

My daughter and I have just come back from a 5 day stay at the Angel's Home Hotel. I would recommend this hotel, which is clean, well equipped and has very helpful and charming staff. The decor is rather florrid - on the angel theme - but the rooms had everything we needed and were quiet. The location is excellent and it really is no effort at all, if you are in the main building, to make the 1 minute walk round the corner to the Angel's Home 2 restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was an ample, help yourself affair, but with some curious offerings - alongside the regular fare - such as cold chips! Nevertheless, the staff were great - going out of their way to be helpful. As we had booked directly with the hotel and were staying 5 days, the hotel arranged for transportation to and from the airport which made everything go very smoothly.
The only problem we encountered - which was not a problem of the Hotel's making - was a very menacing and unpleasant waiter at the nextdoor fish restaurant who harrassed and threatened us each time we passed. We mentioned this to the hotel in passing and they said that other customers had also complained and they would take it up with the management of the restaurant. I hope they do so.

Our grown-up children had stayed in this hotel last year and thoroughly recommended it. We found the staff friendly and efficient and the room (318) very comfortable with a neat little shady balcony. Best of all was the fabulous location which was so near all the main sights. The roof terrace is a great asset and the perfect place to unwind and watch the sunset and flood lighting on the Blue Mosque.

The restaurant is about 100 yards away and was pretty and relaxed with the option of eating outside or in. The waiters were very pleasant and we thought the food was very good. We will certainly be recommending this hotel to our friends and hope to return another time. Istanbul is a really amazing city with so much to see and do.

My husband and I stayed at Angel's Home for several nights. The location was great, however I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We set up a trap on the first day of our stay to check to see if hotel staff would go through our bags. We put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door during our whole stay. Mind you, we do not do this at every hotel, but an uncomfortable hunch made us feel uneasy. On several occasions (with the DO NOT DISTURB sign hung), hotel staff rummaged through our suitcases and backpacks. Unfortunately, we had to turn in our key EVERY time we left the hotel so management might not be involved. Since we paid for it on Expedia, we could not recoup any money for future nights so we ended up taking all of our valuables with us every time we left the room (even at breakfast).

Further more, there was a peculiar "window" in our bathroom opposite our shower and above the toilet that opened up into a supply closet. The window had no lock and was easily opened. During our stay, we heard hotel staff in this closet multiple times. It was not a comforting experience. I recommend to hotel management to close off this window.

I do not recommend this hotel. My husband and I are frequent travelers and this is the first hotel that we have not recommended. It was an uncomfortable feeling during our stay and we left feeling violated.

We respect all reviews and we belive that all our quests were so kind and polite although if they were unhappy with us.Sorry ,we are never able to accept this title and noone has a right to insult to the others.
If this is a true review posted by a guest of Angels Home , probably he/she choosed the cheapest room(the room described) that we have only one at the entrance floor that we never prefer to sell this room but only if there is an insistent request for the cheapest room during the fully booked time ,althogh we emailed them about the room's situation before check in just after getting their reservation from a 3.hand probably a travel web site they booked.Once again, all our guests were so kind and polite, thanks to all for choosing us even if they were not satisfied.WE KNOW ;It is not possible to make all happy.
