The three-storey intimate retreat of 65 rooms and suites in a century-old former prison at the centre of the Old Town will ensure you stay in the lap of history with UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque being a short stroll away. The neo-classical building with its perfectly landscaped lush courtyard garden cafe – formerly the prisoners exercise yard along with ‘Seasons’, the glass pavilion restaurant at its focal point, pays homage to the city’s rich Ottoman heritage. Journey the Old City with its narrow streets allowing your senses to be overwhelmed by scents of incense and spices wafting through the air followed by sundowner cocktails on the terrace overlooking the iconic monuments - an absolute must.

Room Tip: Don’t forget to admire some of the traditional Turkish carpets – ‘kilims’ that adorn the property an...

What you would expect from a Four Seasons city hotel. Very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, more sophisticated and overall better quality evening meal than most that we had elsewhere (and although it felt expensive at the time, our experience elsewhere in Turkey later on indicated that it was not out of line). Very friendly and helpful staff and a turkey football shirt and "I love Istanbul" t-shirt in the rooms for our children, along with a quiz which entitled them to room service popcorn and made them feel very welcome.

This is probably one of the most impressive hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well appointed and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. There are many cozy seating areas within the hotel lobby in which to relax. The courtyard gardens were lovely as was the rooftop garden. The staff kindly obliged our request to open the rooftop area even though it was closed due to cool weather, so that we could enjoy the view of this MOST AMAZING city.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the most desirable sites within the historic city. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness, ambiance and beauty of this facility. I highly recommend this exceptional hotel if you are traveling to Istanbul.

Perfect location, within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, the Haggia Sophia, Topaki Palace, Grand Bazaar, spice market, etc., we could have spent our entire 6 days exploring around the winding streets. Staff was very friendly and helpful, booked taxi's and instructed the drivers where to go as most cab drivers did not speak English. Loved exploring the surrounding sites and would highly recommend to couples as well as families.

Came here for Afternoon Tea on our last day in Istanbul and had a delicious feast! Three of us had the traditional afternoon tea, while one of us had the Turkish afternoon tea. All the sandwiches, pastries and scones were very tasty and you do receive a good amount. The surroundings were wonderfully peaceful and the gardens so pretty, we really had a fantastic afternoon.

Over all, not what you would expect from a Four Seasons Hotel in terms of rooms and hotel interior. The biggest advantage is the location. The hotel is just a walking distance to all major sights in Sultan Ahmed. Also, there's a lot of cafes and restaurants close-by.

The restaurant at the court yard is excellent. Food and service were great. You also need to have a drink or snack at the terrace on top floor. Do not miss it especially at times of good weather. You will have a nice view of Hagia Sophia.
