“Cool place to relax”

Interesting to see and a nice cool place to sit for a snack. There was a long line to get in but it went quick.

“Cool off from the hot summer sun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

The cistern is underground and very cool and refreshing to get out of the humid air. The history is fascinating, don't miss the Medusa heads and the reason they are upside down.

“A part of old Constantinople”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

This is a must-see, as you can appreciate the centuries-old history of this place. Remnants of Roman temples were "recycled" to form the water cistern.

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

First thing in the morning best time to visit as quiet!
An amazing place with a unique feel. The lighting lent itself to great photography and the medusa heads are not to be missed. I would rate this attraction over the Ayasofia - it is very underrated on entrance but as you go underground it literally takes your breath away...
