Quite unexpected. Very different from the other sights in the area. But like all of them they can get very busy. I got their early before the rush and it was wonderful being in the underground caverns which used to supply water to residents above. Some of the carvings are amazing - especially the pillars with the head of Medusa. And carp swim freely in the water. Now made more famous as an important site in Dan Brown's latest - Inferno!
