“Could have spent the whole day in there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

What an amazing collection of sculpture and artefacts - really takes you back in time. The sarcophagus were beautiful, so were the busts of Alexander, Marcus Aurelius, Athena... and so much more. Really felt like a gallery of greats coming alive! I could only visit one wing in about 3 hours. To make the most of your ticket, give yourself a nice long viewing span. Spoiler alert: The Alexander Sarcophagus isn't really his.

“Great collection but disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Half the museum was closed, signage was poor, lighting was poor, overall presentation was lacking despite a lot of great stuff. Must see the small tile museum, it is beautiful!

“reasonably priced vast collection in a building site”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

even though its a building site there are large sections still open. they have cut the price down to account the smaller selection yet it still seems to be big and a little confusing narrative. Along the way you forget that you are looking at over 8000 years of history. amazing.
