“Wonderful Tiles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Rustem Pasha Mosque is near the Egyptian Market in an area that caters to those in the market for kitchen equipment. It's a small mosque up a hidden stairway with an incredible collection of tiles. If you are near the Egyptian Market or just across the street by the Bosphorus ferries, it's worth a visit.

“Not top priority if time is limited”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This is an active Mosque open to the public except during prayer time. Interesting and historical Mosque Since this is a smaller Mosque and not located in the midst of the other main sights see the other Mosques first if time is limited.

“Hidden jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Don't miss this small mosque...it is, in its way, more spectacular than the Blue Mosque--and was created by the teacher of the Blue Mosque's architect.

“So beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

This little mosque is tucked away on a side street near the Spice Bazaar - we found the whole area very interesting and more 'real' than the pristine Sultanahmet area. The mosque itself is rightly famous for its beautiful tilework and we enjoyed visiting such a beautiful place which was not crowded or filled with loathsome tour groups. Women have to cover their heads to enter this mosque as a sign of respect.
