A historical mosque next to the burial site of where it is claimed Mohammed's standard bearer is burried. It is said that that Abu Ayyup Al Ansari died during the Arab assault on Constantinople and his tomb is venerated by Muslim pilgrims.

“Host of the Prophet ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

Its the tomb of Abu Ayyub Ansari, who was the fortunate host of the holy Prophet when he migrated Makka and entered Madina. The tomb and Masjid is regarded and respected in Islamic history,so its worth seeing place in Istanbul.

“One famous place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Buzzing with activity as a very famous place for locals as well...not so easy to get there as the Eyup ferry terminal is closed, so we took a taxi, about 30 Liras from Aksaray tram stop... The tomb of Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (R.A.) a companion of Prophet (S.A.W.) is the reason to visit this place. The mosque itself is beautiful just like each and every mosque of Istanbul!
