“Convenient little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

We stayed four nights at this hotel and our stay was quite comfortable. It was a 15-20 minutes walk from all the major Old Istanbul attractions, very close to the Sea of Marmara, had an impressive spread for the complementary breakfast every morning on its terrace with a view of the sea, and a very helpful staff. Our room was clean but pretty small. We didn't mind because we were out sightseeing most of the day anyway. Our room looked out onto a street and I doubt that any room comes with a sea/better view. Keep in mind that there is a short but significantly uphill walk from the hotel to get to the attractions.

Clean an proper hotel. Panoramic terrasse above the 5th floor with view over the sea of Marmara an parts of the city (blue mosque, Topkapi) used for breakfast: an absolut top starter for a day in Istanbul for the price! The most important sites of the city are in 15 minutes walking distance (grand bazar, blue mosque, topkapi, hagia sofia, etc).

Room Tip: Choose a room in 2nd floor or above.

I can not recommend this hotel enough. We stayed 9 days in this hotel and couldn't have been happier. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assure that we enjoyed our last 9 days in Istanbul. This hotel is close to a lot of the major attractions that one goes to Istanbul for, and the Grand Bazaar and Sultan Ahmet mosque were in extra close proximity. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again. A big thankyou to Yavuz and Cansu for an unforgettable and wonderful experience.

7 of us had a great stay at the Sayeban Hotel. All our rooms were clean and air conditioned. The hotel is walking distance to the major mosques and attractions and a tram stop is just up the hill. The breakfast was great, with lots of variety and fresh fruit and the staff were always friendly and welcoming.

Sayeban Hotel was a fantastic place to stay for our four-night visit to Istanbul.

Our double room was nicely furnished, air-conditioned and very clean. The hotel breakfast was excellent and served on the incredible roof terrace with views out over the ocean.

The hotel was very well located - a very short walk from the Grand Bazaar or the Metro (tram), and walking distance to all Old Town attractions. Be aware the walk from the Tram stop, though very short, is quite steeply downhill.

The best thing about this hotel was the amazing staff. It is a family owned and operated business, and all staff were incredibly friendly and eager to help. The airport transfers they organised were great, too.

If you are looking for clean, comfortable and safe place to stay in Istanbul, excellently located to all the main sights in Old City you wont go wrong with this hotel.

Hotel is relatively new, rooms are decent size, cleaned daily, air conditioned. Bathrooms are super clean with fresh towels every day. As for the sleep quality - beds are comfortable and if you spend all day wondering around beautiful Istanbul, if there is any noise - you wont notice it :). Wifi was excellent.

Breakfast is served on roof top terrace with amazing view, more-less the same every morning but fresh and with something for everyone.

The service and staff were great, all very friendly and helpful with information where to go, how to get there, where to eat, etc... (have to mention Cansu, girl who works on reception).

All in all, excellent value for your money and a good choice when staying in Istanbul.

SImply excellent. The rooms were clean and were a decent size for the budget - it was comfortable and the breakfast was very good, on a terrace overlooking the sea. The location was perfect just 15-20 minutes from the Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque and 5-10 minutes walk to the Grand Bazaar.

However the best thing about this hotel is the service and staff who were all brilliant. They were friendly, reliable, kind, gave great tips about how to get to places chiefly and efficiently - and one of them even referred us to a dentist for an x-ray free of charge when one of our group had tooth-pain.

If I ever visit Istanbul again I won't hesitate to return to Sayeban Hotel!
