As beautiful the site of this small hotel, as lovely the rooms, as extremely eager the staff are to please, there is no getting around the fact that the hotel is in an impoverished neighborhood, surrounded by abandoned buildings. That said, Istanbul hotels are very expensive, and HHK is not. We felt perfectly safe during the day, and with the money you save by staying here, you can take a taxi back to the hotel at nightand still be way ahead.

The building and style of the hotel is very nice and the brothers have tried hard in furnishing the rooms in a very attractive way, bathrooms are very modern however the bathroom of the room we had was a cornered off section of the room, and i definately wouldn't describe the room as spacious. View from the terrace is stunning. Nice little pool if you wanted a quick dip. Breakfast excellent everything you could wish for. now for the downside.

On arrival after our taxi driver had been unable to find the hotel and had to make numerous phone calls, we discovered the hotel was behind locked gates and in a run down area of Istanbul, our room no 202 was not ready and wouldn't be avaliable for about an hour (we were after the time stated for your room to be avaliable for you) the lady receptionist said we could be upgraded to a family room with partial sea view, we don't think this is an upgrade as i booked a double superior room with sea view! On hindsight i we wished we had taken it as for the two nights we were there, there was constant noise from the room above of someone walking up and down the room, it sounded like a herd of elephants! the glass pendants on our bedroom chandelier jingled and there were cracks in the ceiling, i can see why, from all the pacing about, we spoke to the man on the desk about it and he told us that no guests were staying in that room so i can only suppose it must be the owners living quarters, we had no noise from rooms either side of us, this unfortunately for us spolit our stay. Also the hotel does not personally answer emails. Don't bother with evening meals leave a lot to de desired.

They say the first impression lasts and our first encounter with Istanbul was with the hospitality of HHK hotel! An amazing staff welcomed us in a luxurious cozy boutique hotel that made our experience a great memory to remember! Thanks to Omer, Lutfeye and everyone for the fantastic service. Hope to see you again soon. With love from Morocco.

this is a wonderful hotel with a very kindlly and helpful staff, clean and a marvellous view on istanbul, the bosphore and the golden corn. The place is quiet and not far from a lot of places to visit. If you decide to stay in a confortable place, with the opportunity to refresh and relax in the swimming pool when it is too hot, then you have to choose this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room with a view on the bosphore was large and quiet.

We just returned yesterday from Istanbul and stayed during 4 great days in the HHK and it was just fabulous. All of the staff were really "thumb up" in any way (many thanks to everybody) and the fantastic rooms as well as the whole wooden hotel in its old traditional way of Istanbul houses is just a stay worth it. Even the Location is not in the uper-class, high-level, golden-polished street area of Istanbul but in the real part of the Sultanamet and very close to all the big sights, we fellt just great. Walking home through the old cobble stones pavement along the tiny little craftsmen shops showed us a part of real Istanbul. Anyway I attest all the other recommendations from Kazza / Melikebil and David L for 100% and hope to be able to return soon.

This is a great place to stay when you're in Istanbul. An intimate place in Sultanahmet area in a quite street, which even for some taxidrivers is hard to find. Owner and staff are very kind and helpfull, from arranging taxi's to advising on restaurants. Rooms are quite small, but when you realize this is an Ottoman house from 1850 which was not build as a hotel, you will admire the ingenuity of the bathroom.
Great views from the room, terrace and pool. Nice pool. Free sauna and hammam. Very tasteful breakfast. We stayed here only one night with eight people but couldn't find any issues we were not satisfied with or we would like to be changed. As a goodbye-gift we received a box of Turkish delight. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, Price-quality ratio deserves a great rating.
