“Best place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

We stayed at Muyan Suites during Easter 2013 and were taken care of well.

Mr. Aslan, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. His suggestions on restaurants were excellent. He also helped us with tickets to venues and we did not need to wait in long lines.
The excellent service was also consistently extended by the entire staff.

Our room was sizable, comfortable and clean, but not fancy. Breakfast was tasty, offering local delicacies - yoghurt, homemade jams, seasonal fruits, pastries, cheeses, olives and even eggs. The hotel is within short walking distance of major sites and also the tram, a very convenient way to travel around both old and new city.

We also chose the airport transfers and were on time, courteous and good value.

The Muyan Suites is an outstanding value. Every staff member I met left me believing they were genuinely concernced that I was having an enjoyable stay. The hotel is within a five minute walk of most of themajor tourist sights in Sultanahmet, about fifteen minutes tothe spice bazaar. The room was comfortable with no outside noise. Breakfast offered a large variety. I would definitely stay here again

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I would love to go back.

Very good value for your money. The rooms are quite spacious, there is an internal elevator so you don't need to carry your stuff on the stairs. The staff is very attentive to your needs and very happy to help you learn and navigate the city.
They were also nice and let us check-in earlier than standard, and even offered us to have breakfast on the day of arrival, though not included. We didn't as we wanted to go out, but a nice little gesture.

On the negative side
The breakfast was good most days, however in the last day the milk was bad! I didn't realize it until I actually drank it. Also, the double bed was made out of 2 single beds; not very uncomfortable, but was expecting some sort of a double size mattress.

Overall, thank you for their hospitality. We'll be happy to come back again.

Stayed there for 3 nights, they picked us up from the Atatürk Airport as part of a package deal. As expected room was clean and big. The Hotel has only 11 rooms, so it is a nice atmosphere and not overcrowded. Breakfast could do better, though.

This bed and breakfast accommodation is located in a run down area with an abandoned car next door and the surrounding streets/buildings in general disrepair. Having got over that initial shock, one finds a well presented two year old 6 storey property that is staffed by superb personnel; Oktay being particularly helpful and supervised by the manager Aslan who did everything possible to make the stay memorable. We needed extra blankets, hangers, adapter and these were brought up within 5 minutes and this service was reflected throughout our stay.
The extensive continental buffet breakfast had 6 types of fresh fruit, 3 types of jam, squash (shame not juice), yoghurts and cereals, various breads, cakes, pastries and hot selection from sausages, omelettes, pancakes, etc. The dining room is on a lower ground floor accessed via the stairs or lift and was well laid out teas/coffee was available on request. We had a de luxe suite and there is a need to improve the set up with little storage space in the bathroom, absence of electrical points in the bedroom, TV (BBC News only) in bedroom. Excellent location to the major points of interest (walking distance but hilly area) and given hotel card in case we got lost. Maps and recommendations for tours but can be obtained cheaper when done independently. Make sure you have Turkish Lira as Trams, various shops won't accept Euros.

It was better than the trip advisor descriptions! Nice traditional ottoman style hotel. Excellent location near Sulatanhmet, near to all historical sites! Marvellous rooms! Just perfect! Definitely go there!

This hotel can teach a lesson on customer service. Mr. Aslan is an excellent host and manager and makes you feel at home in their property.

points of strength:
- excellent value/price: free breakfast, free wi-fi, free pick up or drop off from Ataturk airport (trust me this is super valuable as most taxi drivers are clueless how to find the hotel).
- excellent recommendations to the area; we were recommended a restaurant for dinner which was a hidden gem (and had a connection to hidden paths to topkapi palace). [restaurant: albura katishma].
- Happy to serve: Aslan the manager of the hotel is most pleasant, considerate and helpful. He welcomed us with a smile and offered us an upgrade.
- Excellent service: the service in this hotel is impeccable, there is honestly nothing they could do that they won't in order to guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Hotel is clean and comfortable, within walking distance to anywhere worth going in the Sultanahmet area.

Points to consider:
- stay in sultanahmet if you are willing to walk to places. Taxis are clueless about where the hotel is located, and the one way roads make it a hassle every time. Simply walk to and from places in sultanahmet or stay outside the area.
(Talking about taxis; watch for illusionists posing as taxi drivers (!) they quickly cheat and pretend your 50 TL bill has been a 5 TL bill all along!)

- the hotel rooms facing the back have no terrace or view but are quiet and peaceful.
- Although breakfast is sufficient it is uninspiring, and can be improved.
