“Best staff ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

The staff of sultan tughra hotel add a great value to it. Besides the brilliant location which is so close to a lot of wonderful historical visits (which may be common between all the hotels in sultan ahmet area), i believe that the staff of sultan tughra hotel make the difference. They turn it from a good well located hotel, to be a great and a special hotel. I think no one stayed at sultan tughra can forget the best hospitality ever. Mert , the hotel manager is very helpful, and always there for you. I could find him always from the time i wake up at 7:00 to the time i go to sleep again at 23:00 to 00:00. He was supervising my breakfast, he was always asking me about the room and about my stay. He supported me planing my trip. He also contacted tourist agences for me to book full day trips and so on. Even he lefted my paggage from/to the taxi. Simply,He made it so easy for me to enjoy my stay. Thank you very much Mert. Also thanks to hakaan from the staff, he speaks a little Eglish , but he is very helpful too. Thanks to the breakfast cookers too. That's why i recommend sultan tughra hotel. Not only the great location, also the most helpful and friendly staff ever.

We arrived late on the first night of our honeymoon and were warmly greeted and had complimentary wine and Turkish delight in our amazing room.
Woke up refreshed to find very attentive and friendly staff waiting for us at breakfast.
Can't say a bad word about it, we only stayed 2 nights before our cruise left Istanbul but would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy friendly stay in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Just ask and they will give you the best room available

The friendly and warm staff take care of you. The location is very close to the historic center near the Blue Mosque. There is an artistic charm to the hotel from the wall paper and furnishings to the presentation of breakfast. We were well on our way to long days exploring the beautiful city of Istanbul after our morning breakfast and Turkish coffee. We even came home to a fruit and nut basket and a complimentary bottle of wine one evening. There was also wi-fi included which helps after a long day to review the day and plan the next. We had two small issues: the power went out for a few hours once and we had some initial trouble finding the place. However, each are the price of being in a quaint old neighborhood and I would recommend this hotel very much overall.

Mister Mert and the rest of the staff at Sultan Tughra Hotel is the most helpful og friendly hotelstaff, we have ever met. The rooms are small but wonderfully equipped with ottoman style interieur. Bathroom is small but modern. The cleaning is super and you can walk to all the sights in the old area.

Room Tip: We had a room (number 14 - standard) next to the reception and were not disturbed by any noise at al...

We stayed 6 nights in King room upstairs. The room itself was very nice, quiet, stylish, clean and the bath tub was good after a long day outside walking. The manager was always very helpful and wanted to make sure everything is alright with us. Also other staff was nice too. Breakfast was delicious and you could even order up coffee/tea/cake upstairs for free. Excellent location with Ayasophya, Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace within 5 minute walking distance. Thanks to Sultan Tughra hotel, our stay in Turkey Istanbul was very pleasant.

Room Tip: Third floor king size room was very nicely decorated and was quiet and clean everyday.

Wooden home in Ottoman style was converted into this stylish, boutique hotel in 2011. Unfortunately we stayed in the triple room for one night only before the tour of Turkey that we took with Gate1 Travel. But the stay was very pleasant. Good location close to Topkapi palace, Ayasophya and Blue Mosque. Many good restaurants can be found in the neighborhood. Buffet breakfast for three people was included in the room price which we booked using Booking.com and it was delicious.
We were even admitted into the room before the check-in time. Mr Mert took care of all our needs.
We recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend a night in the truly Turkish place with furniture and decor matching the Ottoman period.

Room Tip: Triple room has one very large king bed and an extra bed for the third person

My husband and I spent six nights in the Old City area of Istanbul. We wanted to test out different areas before settling on one hotel. Luckily, we found Sultan Tughra, and were so happy we stayed 3 nights there after sampling 3 other hotels. Had we found Sultan Tughra sooner, we would have stayed longer!

We were upgraded to the deluxe double room, which was enough space for a couple. The rooms are clean and happily, some of the rooms have tubs (ours did). The breakfast spread is good, and the hotel is very close to the main sites (and all the other hotels in Sultanahmet).

Mert is very helpful and enthusiastic. The hotel is small, which means guests get a lot of assistance and attention. Should we find ourselves in Istanbul again, we will definitely be staying at Sultan Tughra.
