“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2014

Lovely little hotel run by friendly staff and good value. My room was comfortable, modern and clean. In the heart of Kadikoy, which is a lovely area full of markets and restaurants, and a stone's throw away from the boats which take you across the Bosphorus to the European side of Istanbul. My only small complaint was that my room was a little warm at night even with air con.

3/4-star hotel on the busiest square on Asia side of Istanbul. Ferry stations to take you to the European side of city, as well as Princess islands is just around the corner. Meaning you are 15 minutes away from city's historical sites and other attractions, at a fraction of the nightly room rates on the European side. If you happen to arrive or depart from Sabiha Gokcen airport, this hotel is an obvious choice , because the airport shuttle bus that costs a mere 8 TL per person bring you right in front of the hotel.
Rooms are spacy, clean and well-furnished. Breakfast is fair, but don't expect anything fancy... Overall, good value for 180-200 TL bb charge per night (2 persons) .

We have just returned from our stay in Istanbul. We stayed for 4 nights at the Otel Bella in Kadikoy. Our arrival at the hotel was fast and efficient. Cases were taken straight to the room with no hanging around waiting to be allocated a room. The room was of a good size, very contemporary yet sticking with the Turkish theme. The only thing which would of been an added bonus would have been a seating area, as I had to spend quite a bit of time in the room. It is a small boutique hotel just up a side street from the walkway taking you into the centre or Kadikoy. Unfortunately we did experience noise from workers directly outside the hotel as they were laying a new path/road alongside the hotel. The staff did apologize for this and explained its generally a very quiet hotel which is believable. It is unbelievably clean and tidy. The staff seem to be always cleaning and perfecting the appearance of the lobby and breakfast room which is great. The breakfast selection we had included was small but only of what could be expected for a small hotel. It is catered for the Turkish style of breakfast, providing salad and cheese etc. there was a toaster with fresh bread so we were fine. If you haven't been to Istanbul before your probably under the impression that its one large city just like we were, but there are actually two main sides to Istanbul, consisting of The Asian side (where we were) or the European side. You can visit the European side for 3 Lira per person by Ferry. It's a great experience, very busy but worth the visit. The European side offers plenty of shopping facilities, along with all the big brand stores we have in the UK; Gap, Top-shop, Monsoon etc. It's a huge shopping street so there is a tram that runs through the town allowing you to hop on and off as you please. Tacism square is a nice area to visit during your stay. Overall a very good stay at the hotel, good location and helpful staff. Would defiantly recommend. :-)

I like this hotel and love the location. It is on the Asian side, which I prefer. The hotel is a bit difficult to find but once you are there you are close to ferries and dolmuses whih can get you to all tourist sites easily and cheaply.
The rooms were all refurbished a year or so ago and have great amenities. it is a small boutique hotel so keep that in mind. The breakfast is great and the staff are exceptional. I really love this hotel.

Room Tip: pay a bit more for one of the larger rooms.

This hotel was booked for me so I knew nothing about the place when I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised at both the quality of the place and the friendly people running the place. The location is also very interesting with plenty of shopping, restaurants and things to see while you are there within comfortable walking distance. I had a single room that was very compact but contained all the things I needed on a business trip including free high speed wi fi. One small problem was I found the rooms very warm and couldn't seem to work out how to remedy that but that was probably my inadequacy than their's. Breakfast was ample and varied and strictly Turkish but hell I was in Turkey so what did I expect. Special mention of a the guy called Orhan who was so helpful when I arrived as were all the staff. Istanbul has long been my favourite city and finding little gems like this only enhances my love of the place. It is a nice change from the multinational chain hotels and I wish there were more places like this.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't overlook the kitchen because the heat and the smell can get oppre...

Impossibly small but charming room visually. Postage stamp. OK for one person traveling with a satchel. Dinner excellent food and value. Breakfast featured a beautiful plate of unripe or brown fruit, but eggs were to order. Good location. Could not have beared more than a night. The owner is helpful and strong like bull.

Room Tip: Do not accept the smallest room unless you are a small person with no luggage. Also the air conditio...

I was so pleasantly surprised with the Bella Otel. This nice little hotel is tucked away right off the main drag fronting the water near the ferry port in Kadikoy . We were able to walk daily to the ferry to take us to wherever we wanted to go that day. One day we rode the ferry just for a relaxing afternoon! The fellows who run the hotel are meticulous in their cleaning. Never anything out of place. Eager to please, not all spoke English but they tried. They willingly moved us to another room when our A/C was not quite doing the job. Traditional Turkish breakfast was a buffet. I did not give them the highest marks only because the elevator was not always working and we were on the 4th floor. Also, they are reluctant to give a second room key (I think they only have two and needed to keep one). The power to the room is cut off without the room key present, so sometimes this was inconvenient. The hotel is not luxurious but very very very comfortable and clean.

Room Tip: The one-person rooms have a twin bed and are quite small. Lower floor is best in case the tiny elev...
