Me and my friend spent 8 unforgettable days in this lovely place last December. The friendly staff made the difference......Many thanks to the receptionists, the cleaning ladies and all the team that worked hard to make us feel welcome and like home.
Good service, clean rooms, delicious breakfast and a big smile in this beautiful hotel in the heart of Istanbul.....definitely will make you realize that it was your best choice.Thank you all....your friends from Greece.

The hotel location is excellent, a few steps away from Blue Mosque, Sultanahmet Square and Arasta Bazaar. Agia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Archaeological museum and tram/metro station all within 5 minutes walking distance. The rooms are very nice and clean, fully equipped (tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, even slippers) with fabulous bathroom and free WIFI access. Breakfast room is lovely with delicious breakfast selection. The staff was extremely professional and helpful (they speak English very well). Wonderful view of Istanbul and Bosphorus from rooftop terrace. I recommend this hotel for everyone who wants excellent quality hotel at reasonable price.

With close views from the roof of both the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia the hotel is well located.
Expect to be woken by the call to prayer as you would in many places in istanbul. Staff were friendly and helpful. The free pickup from the airport was a great bonus. Having someone waiting with a card with your name on it at the airport sure takes the hassle out of traveling. Breakfast was good. Small hotel atmosphere is much nicer in my view than a large hotel.

Great small hotel, ideal location just round the corner from the Blue Mosque. We found the hotel staff to be friendly, helpful at all times. The rooms were excellent, rooms at the front of the hotel have the street view and a small portion of the mosque, rooms at the back of the hotel obviously do not have good views, just the back of houses and other hotels (but really how long are you in a hotel room?) I found the hotel was excellent value for money and the buffet breakfast was adequate with enough selection of cereal, cold meats, cheese, and fried eggs etc...

Would recommend a visit to the Bazar, Blue Mosque, Sophia Mosque and Topaki Palace, we did the Bosphorous Tour but given the choice this would be on the bottom of our list.

You should also try some real Turkish Delight with cashew nuts and honey, but ask for a free sample to taste, if they charge go elsewhere.

When visiting the Mosques wear clothing to cover the head such as a scarf and keep arms and legs covered, but it doesn't matter if you are not covered because the Blue Mosque provides long gowns for modesty including men with shorts.

Sophia Mosque is now a museum and therefore has no dress code, generally most tourist dress appropriately.

Overall it was a great hotel and Old Istanbul if wonderful !

There is not much I can add to the previous reviews except that I am just one more very satisfied customer. We would stay here again...why mess with a good thing. Location is incredible, I was concerned about the noise for sleeping (love the sounds during the day) when I first arrived, but as another reported, the insulation is excellent and noise is not an issue at all. From the basement breakfast to the terrace views (you can bring your breakfast up to the terrace if you want), it is all good.
We arrived late the first night, so the hotel arranged a private transport for us for 30 euros (it was worth it as we were tired and new to Istanbul and not any more than any other transportation would be other than the metro or shuttle). We were going to take the metro back to the airport (easy access and very cheap) at the end of our stay, but today we discovered a shuttle service for 5TL that will pick us up at our hotel.

Two friends and I spent three nights here and it was such a great spot for exploring the Blue Mosque, Haga Sophia, Basilica Cistern and loads of other sights. Particularly as it was hot, we could go out in the morning, grab some lunch (we got some great recommendations from the team on reception), have a break in the AC, then head back out once it cooled down a little. The team were extremely helpful and gave us lots of information and recommendations about what to see, where to go and where to eat - the hotel is small enough that they know who you are when you leave and arrive back so it's more personal than a larger chain hotel. As we joined a tour after staying here we also stayed in Pera which was also great to see the other side of Istanbul, I would recommend Artistocrat as a good hotel in a very central location. There's also a great view from the terrace!
