“Good location- comfortable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

After staying in the best town palace at the beginning of my Gecko Tour of Turkey and also at the end- I decided to stay on for another 4 nights. Being a solo female traveller I was comfortable, felt safe and was close to everything that I wanted to see and do whilst staying on the old city side of Istanbul, walking distance to spice and grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, BOspherous Cruises etc. BOoking directly through the hotel only cost around $55.00 per night Aus.
Comfortable beds and pillows- which is more than I can say for most of my stay in other accomodation around turkey. Reasonably accommodating staff, of course language barriers are bound to occur, but some staff have exceptional English- thank goodness because I could not speak Turkish. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and just want a comfortable night sleep( but I do recommend a eye mask and ear plugs)

Room Tip: Some of the showers are very small, so if you are tall or of larger size- ask for a larger bathroom...

The hotel is located near the sea (Bosphorus). It is close to everything, it is 5-10 minutes from spices market and bazaar (to the bazar you must go uphill). The breakfast was good and was on the 5th floor from where it is a beautifull view to the sea Boshorus with all the boats, Galata tower and Taksim. The biggest problem was that when we come in the bathroom was not clean well because there were black hairs in the shower cabin (they clean the room every 2 day but they didn't fix this problem), the bathroom was very small so it was difficult to go to the toilet and to wipe. The internet didn't work it was very frustrating, they have a lot of routers, many connection but on all of them the internet didn't work (only every 3 day if you were lucky). The railway station is behind the buildings, so you can hear the noise of the train, but if you are the whole day away and come at night you feel so tired that you don't hear nothing at all. Employees (staff) offered us a tea or a coffe, they were friendly and tried to help us with everything as possible.

The first room we got had a terrible tobacco smell in it. The next day they gave us another room which was cleaner and bigger. The elevator makes a weird noise each time it starts, that can be heard throughout the building. Staff is polite but not welcoming. Not a single smile in the 4 days I was there. Probably not a nice place to work at. Lots of cheap stuff for breakfast. No fresh fruits whatsoever, cheap sausages in greasy gravy, vegetables drowned in mayo or olive oil, tasteless bread, etc etc. The only good aspect of this hotel is the location, within walking distance of the Galata bridge. I found a much better deal in a parallel street which was a bit more expensive but much, much better (Maywood).

Room Tip: upper rooms have a view on the golden horn, above the train station.

I stayed here as part of a tour. The rooms are small, bathroom is even smaller (Take one step to enter the bathroom. Turn right for the sink, turn left for the toilet, or take one step forward to enter the shower). The twin beds weren't quite twin size - a bit narrower it seemed. Curtains don't quite block outside lights/sun so prepare for this if you need complete darkness the sleep.

The location is a little out of the way and hard to find but it was quiet when construction wasn't going on across the street - my room was on the side street which, I understand, was quieter than those facing the front. It took about 10-15 minutes to walk to Topkapi Palace, Haghia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. The Spice Market was also closeby.

The breakfast room on the top floor has a nice view of the Bosphorus. Breakfast was average but better than some of the other hotels I stayed at while in Turkey.

This hotel is close to all the main sites in Istanbul and within easy reach of the ferries and Galata bridge. The rooms are comfortable, bathrooms small and apart from the station across the road is fairly quiet. Breakfast is typical buffet offered in tourist hotels everywhere in Turkey and the views from the 5th floor dining room are exceptional. A good choice if you are after value but are not too picky about your comforts.

We, (four friends) from India, have travelled to Istanbul and stayed in Best Town Palace hotel. We were given 102 and 105 rooms. The rooms are small and there is no place to keep our luggage. The bathrooms are even smaller. The shower area is 28inches X 48 inches! And water never leaves out of the bathroom even after one hour. We have complained the reception after every use, but they have not attended to the complaint during our stay of three nights. My friends were given another room 305 which has free flow of water. To my surprise the big window is draped with a transparent curtain which allows the street light directly in to the room during nights. The room is bright even after the lights are switched off.
The location is good but this hotel is not a good choice to stay.

Had two stints in this hotel, at each end of our holiday.

The hotel is conveniently located but the first two nights were in a miserable little room. Drab and brown with hardly room to move and a miniscule en suite. The view wasn't anything special either. We looked at on to a breeze block wall a few feet from the window.

The second room was a little better, rather bigger and less drab but still very dated and at least we had a view of the station and were able to enjoy the all night welding and other building works going on. Take ear plugs.

Breakfast though was excellent and a super view across the river from the dining room
