“Terrible hotel...should be called Taksim dead”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

I have never stayed in such a terrible place before.
It was not my personal choice but was booked as a group due to unavailability in other hotels.

The standard rooms are so small, there is no place for your luggage.
The room was dirty with stains in the carpet and the linen.

The location was close to Taksim but it was situated in a noisy road with loud music all night. The windows did not even close well so the cold air and noise came through.

The lifts were not working on 2 days so we had to climb up stairs to the 4th floor.

Also on two days the rooms were not cleaned by housekeeping at all when i returned in the afternoon and the housekeeping was not available to clean the room in the afternoon.

The wifi kept disconnecting and was not stable. One one day when I needed to check important emails, it just would not connect and the staff could not help.
Of course there was no business centre, but not even a pc to use the Internet if wifi was not working.

The aircon stopped working in the middle of the night and started overheating the room which made sleeping uncomfortable. When I asked for it to be fixed the staff just shrugged me off.

The breakfast was very basic and there was a very unfriendly and unhelpful man in a formal suit working there who refused to smile.
Everything is charged extra like eggs and even a tea bag of English tea!!
When the toast got stuck in the toaster he scolded me like it was my fault!

The staff overall were very unfriendly and unhelpful from checkin to checkout. No matter how nicely I spoke to them, they were not polite nor accommodating.
Wanted to check out an hour later and without even checking for availability they said it will be an extra charge. You have been warned....stay away from this hotel!!

Room Tip: Dont stay here but if you have no choice then get a room away from the main road that may be quiter...

This is a budget hotel. The rooms are quite small and it can be a little noisy. The mini bar has this annoying flashing light that is bright. On the plus side the location is brilliant. You are practically on taksim square and instiklal street. The metro is practically next door. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall it was very much worth it.

...because the rooms are so tight, there is no space for put it down. No joke. The rooms are clean and very modern but unbelievable small. The staff is friendly but not more, not as helpful as in other hotels. Breakfast is in the entrance room with a huge TV, so no way for a talk because the Turkish music is too loud. The Turkish bad was nice but without a changing room. There is a glass door which you can't lock and it's in the same room as the Gym.

I wanted to share my experience with the potential visitors of this hotel. The hotel receptionists were very helpful & greeted us with a lot of care.My friends and I were a little unhappy with the noise in the room though because our room was overlooking the main street. The hotel staff alternatively offered to move us into a more quite room within a few hours of our complaint.

On the day i was leaving to the airport, the taksim square was closed due to riots & protests. Also, i had limited cash with me for the taxi fare. The hotel staff helped me find a taxi within my budget & took my bags & carried them across the streets until where the cab was waiting. The taxi was waiting a bit far from the hotel because the roads were closed and no cabs could drive through the roads. The staff carried my luggage for me across the street and put me in the cab.

Also i would like to share this incident where we had forgotten our camera in one of the bus tours & the hotel staff were extremely helpful in helping us contact the tour agency.

Overall, I would like to repeat my visit to the Taksim life hotel because of the hotel staff friendly attitude & their willingness to help.

Very good location few minutes form metro and funicular station and near a lot of good places to eat and drink! The staff is fantastic, ready to help and assist always and at any time! The only problem is the wi-fi that is not working well all the time (bad signal) but i believe that this could be solved without to much truble!

For a recent bithday I traveled to Istanbul, this was my second trip there, my friends first. To say the hotel was a let down is putting it mildly. Absoulutly nothing like th pictures on the web site, the staff barely spoke English, and were very unfriendly. The room was small and very shabby, but most of all...... it is in the middle of a building site were work stars at 8am and the club accross the road is sut=re to keep you awke till then,,, do not stay in this hotel it is awful....the worst i have ever been in !!!
