We stayed here for three nights at the end of May and happily would have stayed longer happily. The rooms are fully consistent with their high TA ratings. The noise was not an issue and we are not patrons of nightclubs. We could hear their rhythmic thumping sound, but it was sort of lulling and not at all loud after about midnight. We only heard that really awful screeching loudspeaker once in the morning, but in Istanbul it is brief and we quickly fell back to sleep. The hotel manager, Bahar Karaca, has trained his staff to operate at the highest level, which I call the Howcanwepleaseyoutoday? attitude (think Ritz Carlton) and in addition, in personal interactions he is most considerate and anxious to assure that all is well. We strongly recommend a superior room on the third floor with partial seaview. I forgot - chocolates on your pillow every night. Amazing hotel.
A huge bonus is the attached restaurant that has a very large, extremely atmospheric patio on the Bosphorus. It clearly is The Place to Be for the upscale Turkish residents and visitors. We normally avoid returning to the same restaurant during a stay, but couldn't resist going here twice.
We were quite apprehensive about going to Turkey, but now can't figure out why, at least as to Istanbul. Alacati and Kalkan. (not Bodrum) The people and standards are completely different than other Islamic countries. We avoided certain areas at night, but felt totally safe during the day. The residents, shop owners, restaurant staff, and others are more refined and genuine overall than in any western European countries we have been to yearly for the past 25 years.
