“A lovely place to be!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

I'm not new to Istanbul, so I know how important it is to stay in a convenient part of town - and Stories Apart will not disappoint! The building itself is amazing, and has been beautifully renovated to retain its old charm. The rooms are very modern, very clean and the bathroom amenities are a lovely quality - the shower was wonderful! The huge flat screen tv has all DigiTurk channels (if you're in your room that long!) and the wifi works well in the rooms.
I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful with any request I had.
The location of this Apart is perfect! Close to many restaurants, shops, the Metro and available taxis. From this location you can walk in any direction and find something interesting or useful!
I will be visiting Istanbul again, and this will be where I want to stay!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the building have bigger windows for more sunlight and fresh air. Just ask wh...

Very nicely decorated hotel. Very smart, spacious rooms with all accomodations you might need (and even some you don't). Reception is friendly, perhaps a little anonymous. Several rooms have no real outside window. The absence of daylight may be a bit discomforting. On the plus side, it's really quiet. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant is good, although the lounge music (same tunes every day) seems too big an effort to keep everything very stylish. In my opinion they could loosen up a bit, but this is personal taste. On the whole, good value for money.

Room Tip: If you need daylight, make sure to check in advance if your room will have that. Otherwise it's...

The location is just excellent. Meters away from Istanbul's prime shopping street Istiklal.
The room we had (# 304) was nicely appointed with large flatscreen TV, fridge-minibar, coffee and teamaker, and even a sink and a small hotplate, although I doubt if you could really cook something on it. And with all the fabulous eateries within walking distance, why would you ? The people at reception were all very nice and helpful.
The shower was more than excellent. A big rain shower and a powerful hand shower in a very royal sized shower-cubicle. Very nice.
The rest of the bathroom is on the small side.
WIFI worked well, no complaints.
Our room was on the street side, first floor, so quite close to the night-time entertainment, but the noise stopped quite abruptly at midnight, so not a real problem.
The street where the hotel is is quite narrow, so the lower rooms do not get a lot of natural light and the room is a bit dark.
But all in all a very nice stay, and one we'll certainly keep in mind for when we're back in Istanbul.

I had no expectations at all when i arrived at this hotel. The rate indicated it must be good hotel. From Arrival to departure this hotel was simply wonderful. The room was spacious, fully equipped with all necessities a traveller requires. The hotel was stylish, without going over board. Aydin who was working at the reception most nights we were there was friendly, helpful and informative.
The major plus point of this hotel is its superb location. I could not have chosen a better one. You step out of the hotel and you are on the main Galata shopping area that is full of life. You are close to the Tunnel which takes you down to the bridge which means you are basically in sultanahmet and all the attractions it offers. Galata offers shopping, nightlife, restaurants, pubs, and the best people watching you can hope for.
I loved this property, can not find a single fault and would like to thank the team and the hotel for making my trip an amazing one.
thank you!

Room Tip: the room on the main street might be a little noisy...

Stylish designed boutique hotel with a nice restaurant, comfortable rooms and good atmosphere for a low price!
Didn't rate the hotel as excellent because:
Beds were very hard- but I suppose some people like that.
The fabulous bathroom was designed without good light above the mirror to put make up on... they have to do something about that!
Wifi didn't have a strong signal at smartphone on the third floor (where our room was).

Room Tip: Ask for large windows!

Great design suite, stayed for a night. Had one of the best bathrooms and the bedrooms in the small hotel category amongst all the location we stayed in Istanbul.

The heating system was very loud in the bedroom, was disturbing our rest. Also the room is dark but its a great resting place to return to after an eventful day.

Beautiful and stylish new hotel in a perfect location to explore this wonderful city of Istanbul. We were surprised by the classy interior for the relatively low price we've paid. Rooms vary quite a bit, some are spacious, some a bit smaller, some even have a view of the water. Very clean. Be aware that this hotel is in a very lively part of town so bring your earplugs if you want to sleep with open windows. All in all - I would always come back to this hotel and recommend it to friends.
