We were charmed by our waiter, Alex, who gave us all the banter and joked a lot. Despite everything I say next, I think he was the best part of our experience there and I don't think it was necessarily his fault we left there a bit sad.
We're vegetarians, and expected to buy two of their 20TL meze plates - that would have been fine for us. But Alex wanted us to try a vegetarian kebab, which was also 20TL on the menu so we went with that.
After our meze starter he comes along with some fire and a clay pot and made a huge deal of breaking it open. It was a good show and soon the whole restaurant was ordering the same.
When our bill came, it was way, way more expensive than we'd expected. After having the recommended kebab, we didn't think to check that it was the 20lira one we saw on the menu - it was an 80TL one, making our whole meal 130. This was rather a lot more than we'd hoped for, especially as the kebab wasn't nearly as good as their meze.
I think this could be a good place to visit, as long as you understand that it's somewhat a tourist trap. The seating was nice, the food average and the service excellent. Just make sure you're ordering exactly what you want to be ordering or you might get a surprise when your bill comes!
