“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Location is close to main attractions. Hotel owner and receptionist Nazif were very hospitable and receive you with smile. Breakfast was fine but with less variety. overall good but a bit expensive hotel probably due to location.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are scenic but old and sick should avoid due to stairs.

Quaint and characterful, this small hotel is wonderfully situated in a quiet street within very easy walking distance of everything you would want to see in the old quarter. It's a homely budget hotel, with friendly and helpful staff and good value for money. Check out the wonderful open air food market just uphill!
We had a medical emergency late at night after checking in, and the owner was astonishingly kind and helpful - he came in the taxi with us to the hospital, tried to get us attended to quickly and waited for many hours (in the early hours of the morning) to see what was happening. We had to cancel our four day booking, and, although this was non-refundable, he refunded us half of what we paid. I was astonished at such extraordinary kindness, it surely says more about the owner than any review could.

The location of the hotel is remarkable, it‘s close to most of the monuments we needed to visit, just 5 miutes walking to the blue mosque and aya sofia, the staff are outstanding specially Aysha from reception she‘s extremely helpful, aletred, and obliging. The breakfast is fine, not super but sufficient. What i want to highlight is the towels have some holes which means it hasn‘t been renovated, moreover, if you have a noisy neighbour you will hear what he says as i guess the walls are not well soundproofed, Considering the price we can generally say that the hotel is a good choice.

Room Tip: Don‘t ask for rooms on the terrace as the terrace includes the restaurant so it will be quite noisy...

It was an amazingly calm, peaceful my room was the top floor which wasn't actually a room but i don't know why i loved it. And Hotel manager and all other staff was very friendly specially yosuf. And the location of hotel is excellent just beside the little aya sofia and very near to the blue mosque and hogia sofia, maximum 5 minute walk from the king palace.

Room Tip: Top floor with the view of small aya sufia and sea.

I stayed at King Palace Hotel twice.....in 2012 and in 2013. It is an excellent hotel for "budget travelers"........clean and safe, with a friendly and helpful staff.......in a great location......and with a very good price for any hotel in Istanbul.

A very nice breakfast is included in the price.......and the breakfast room gives a wonderful view of "Little Ayasofya Mosque", plus a superb panorama of the Sea of Marmara.

I have visited Istanbul many times.......and King Palace Hotel is absolutely the best hotel for the money. Truly an excellent choice!

Room Tip: Every room is good.......

We booked this hotel from booking.com and were not so sure what to expect. Now I can tell that it turned out to be a good choice! The hotel is located in a quiet slightly rundown neighbourhood near little Ayasofia and the sea. Beware of climbing up-and downhill a lot as all the main tourist attraction are uphill from the hotel. On the positive note it will probably give you a necessary excercise after the daily doses of kebap, köfte and baklava :)
The room was tiny but clean. In the beginning it was kind of cold but during our stay they changed the thin bed covers for decent blankets. When booking I would recommend to ask for a room on lower floors (2.nd or 3rd) as being closer to the breakfast terrace can mean an early wake up.
The breakfast was surprisingly plentiful, there was even peanut butter and green tea available besides the Turkish breakfast classics. On one morning we even found some whole-grain bread and there was a wide choice of cheeses, hams and sausages to choose from.
Besides all that the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. On the first night I noticed that my reading lamp wasn't working and the old guy from the reception came and changed the light bulb. We also got some directions from the staff. At least the boy who was there during daytime spoke decent English.
I would definitely recommend the place!

Room Tip: Do not book a room on the terrace floor- it would be noisy in the mornings and I'm not sure thes...
