“Lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Friendly, helpful staff. Good quality breakfast. Bed very comfortable. Excellent wifi (best I've experienced in many, and more modern, hotels). Our room was charmingly furnished, with armchairs & small occasional table (no desk). Good hanging space with shelf, but no drawer unit. Nice clean bathroom, with a very good shower. The hotel has an elevator, but there are 4 steps down and 4 more up to get to it. Hotel organized our airport transfers (difficult to locate our driver on arrival, but once found service was excellent). We had some problems with the laundry service, but we believe management is addressing this. Close to attractions and tram. Lots of hawkers/spruikers in the nearby streets -but this is Istanbul. We would definitely stay there again.

My family (4of us) spent four nights at this hotel in December 2012. We chose this hotel after reviewing many hotels in the vicinity of the historical places like Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. It was a good choice as it is walking distance to all these places as well as the shopping areas.

The hotel is not a big one and I think they have only about 20 rooms. We took a family room which have 4 beds-comfortable enough for 4 of us. The bathroom is quite sizeable and is always clean. The bedroom linens are replaced daily.

The staff manning the front desk are all friendly. They are quite accomodating to our request to alter our bookings as we left Istanbul to visit some nearby places thus having to vacate the room. They were kind enough not to charge us for the days we did not stay at the hotel. This is something unexpected in Europe or even some parts of Asia.

Breakfast is included in the package. The spread is satisfactory and it was good enough to start the day. All in all, it is a worthwhile place to stay in an area where you only need to take a walk to visit the must-see places. Within the hotel vicinity are several eateries serving food from different countries. Besides there are money exchange booth and all the necesities for foreigners. The tram station is also within walking distance to the hotel.

Recommended for those travelling with a small family and have constarint on budget.

Room Tip: book a family room if you have 4 persons in the family travelling. it is so ideal and adequate.

My wife and I spent 5 nights here on our fifth trip to Turkey. Friends had recommended it because of the great location and the fantastic and helpful staff. We were not disappointed, and would stay there again. I had to be out of town on business for two of those five nights and my wife felt very safe and well cared for. Although we know about smallish rooms (e.g., Japan and Europe), we wished for a bit more room so we wouldn't step on our bags so often. However, we aren't willing to pay for more room, and felt this was good value. The walk to the Grand Bazaar is only 10 minutes, and the hotel is only a few steps from half a dozen restaurants. Try it!

Planning your trip in advance is always good, right? Well in the case of Noah’s Ark, it won’t help you much. They do overbooking. We reserved a deluxe room 4 months in advance but when we got there for new year’s eve all they had for us was an improvised room behind the front desk that smelled like it had some sewage problem, and no heating. The manager who received us the day before, Mr. Yilmaz Doruk, was nowhere to be found the next day. When we told assistant manager that we wanted to leave the hotel, the owner showed up. After trying to make us reconsider and offering the biggest room available, and since our decision was final, he had de decency of not charging for the night. The location is good but there are plenty of alternatives around the same area. Not worth the hassle.

Room Tip: Look for alternatives around the same area. There are plenty at the same price level.

Dear Guests,

First of all, thank you for sharing your experience here with the other members of this association. Please let me correct a few things that you claimed here in your review.. Regarding to your booking, you might be right about making your booking 4 months in advance but we were not over-booked and we provided you with a room and you did not have to sleep else where for the first night. This can not be called over booking.. The guest staying in the room you were going to have had a personal health problem and couldn't check out that day. We have already told you about the situation and even on your arrival, we offered you our largest room that we provide to the families for the rest of your stay without looking for any extra charge and to show you our apology and as far as I can remember you were ok with this agreement. But the very next day, with a great anger you showed up (as my colleagues told me) to the reception desk and you asked for a check out. This is exactly what happened. Also It was possible to reach me but I was not in the hotel as it was the 1st of Jan, since I also have a family same as you have one which is natural I guess !! I can be reached anytime I am called from the hotel and they called me that morning. So, I was on duty in the afternoon the same day. Of course you did not know this as you were not in the hotel. As a Noahs Ark Hotel Family, we wish you a happy new year and all the best for the forthcoming travelling experiences in your life time. Sorry for the first night as we were not able to provide you with the original room that you made the reservation for..

Staff were incredibly helpful with maps and places to go. They were waiting at the door to greet us when we arrived and carried our luggage in. A very warm welcome and reception. They are at the desk 24 hours a day, so are always on hand to help or advise. Our room slept 4 and was very large and incredibly clean! I will definitely return to this family run hotel. The breakfast was okay.......middle eastern I guess.....not quite what I wanted.....but was fresh and plentiful.
