“Perfectly located, super friendly staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2011

I can't say enough about Ali Hasimi and his staff. Friendliest hotel I've ever stayed at and a perfect location for a visit to Istanbul's must-see sights. The breakfast is sublime and the rooftop dining area has a great view of the Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque. Stay here!

Ideal location near to all the historic sites. About 200m walk to the metro. 10 mins walking distance to the Grand Bazzar. Lots of choices in restaurants which are reasonably priced nearby.
If you are interested in carpets there are lots to see nearby - prices here are for uninformed tourist.
We are a family with a 10yr old son and we found the room size adequate.
The showers could do with some work. The decor is not what you can describe as splendid - but you really do not visit Istanbul for the hotel's decor.
The staff is wonderful - friendly and warm. There are happy to accomodate you anyway they can.

This small comfortable hotel located in a quiet street close to the Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque was just perfect for our short break in Istanbul. Our room was spacious and very clean. Manager Yilmaz and ALL his staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. We will happily recommend The Noahs Ark to our friends.

Well located in a quiet street, but rooms are not well sound proofed so we had to ask our neighbours to turn their TV down (I hate having to do that). There is also a plumbing issue as there is often a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We were given a large room on one of the lower floors with two double beds, so that was a nice surprise. Breakfast on the terrace is pleasant, as were the staff. In summary, don't expect a boutique hotel with classy fittings but we had a fairly good experience.

I booked this hotel reading all the great reviews, only to find it has a few common flaws. We arrived to be told that we have been upgraded to the suite for no extra cost. When we were shown to the room(which is very large) we were quite pleased with it, until about 6.00am when breakfast starts to get prepared and every bumb, skratch, footstep is heard through the paper thin ceiling.I think because we are young they could palm of this room, because i don't think older people would deal with it. Day 2, we woke to a foul smell wafting in through the drain in the bathroom which stuck with us for 4 days. The breakfast is average, and quite a strange mix,yes the views are good. But weak coffee, stale cake and boiled eggs are not your thing avoid it and pop down to one of the local cafes and have a turkish apple tea and baklava or a good latte and a pastry. The staff could be more warming, the manager never greeted us or spoke to us for that matter.Overall it's average but great location to all the attractions. Just do a bit of research before and you will find better deals.

I stayed at the Noah's Ark recently having read TA reviews and was thoroughly disappointed. Upon arrival we were informed that our room had been double-booked and would we mind staying in a different room for a cheaper price - which we agreed to do. The room we were shown to seemd fine at first but upon staying there we were disappointed with the smell (it was on the ground floor and close to the drainage system which stank), the noise that came through the door and the fact that the shower was not afixed to the wall. We changed rooms for the second and 3rd nights and the experience was better although for the price we could have stayed somewhere much nicer (indeed we did when we returned to Istanbul a week later, the Empress Zoe). the one positive was the breakfast which was good - especially the view.

We chose here because of its location and the fact it had such reviwes of course. We were told we had a suite half price for £132 per night instead of £264 so expected something good. What we had was an average sized double room and a smallish shower room - no bath - with 3 double beds 2 tables and chairs. There was so much furniture for the room we could not get into both sides of the bed and had to ask (3 times before it was done) for one of the tables and chairs to be moved. I don't believe the price of the room was as first said or that it was worth what we paid!! The furniture was as if it was from IKEA and the shower was clean but shoddy - you had to hold the shower for it to work

Room Tip: don't believe what they say
