We are for a design project for two weeks in istanbul. after a while we were kind of fed up by the turkish quisine all the time.
after visiting trip advisor we thought to give it a try.
IT WAS AMAZING
at first we were kind of angry because some guys at the table next to us, i guess it was the cooks or some other staff of the restaurant were having a smoky barbecue on their table.
after we ordered some starters (dont miss the egg roll! thx for the advice!) one of the guys from the other table came over and gave us a huge plate of their salad - for free. we ordered like 3 starters and got some plates with other stuff (kimchi, water spinach, potato salad and korean zucetti) for free as well. after this, the other guys offered us some of their barbecued meat and we each got some lamb shis and chicken wings for free as well.
the main dishes were ranging from 10tl to 40tl and were simply amazing. i never ate korean before but i lived in china for a while and i must say that it was not authentic, but still not the usual american chinese food crap.
the service personal was really polite, most of it was served by this really old, warm hearted and funny korean guy.
after the main dish the barbecue guys came over and drank some raki with us and for desert we got some water melons, again everything on the house.
we ofcourse left a huge tip and the old korean guy invited us to sing karaoke with him, unfortunately we had to leave..
overall my best experience in this normally unfriendly touristic area. it was a real relief to meet all these warm and kind persons and we had a great time! i can only recomend it to you and hope you have a great time as well!!
