“A splendid hotel and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Millennium Suites, a boutique hotel in old town Istanbul is outstanding. The room was very large and luxurious. The staff were extremely helpful and bent over backwards to be of assistance. Breakfast was a feast made for a Sultan. I would recommend this hotel to friends traveling as either a couple or solo. The staff went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed as far as recommendations on what to see, where to eat and how to get there. They even took time to help me learn a few words in Turkish.

On this trip I was alone, but next time I will bring my husband.

Room Tip: My room faced the street and I was on the second floor of a multiple story hotel. The street activit...

My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon and traveling from Tanzania when we arrived at the Millenium Suites. Our rate included a one-way airport transfer and we were happy to greet our driver at the airport in Istanbul. The hotel is perfectly located and is a quick 10 minute walk to all of the attractions in the Old City. It is a small hotel and our room was very nice - Alper helped us to book a fantastic dinner at the Sunset Grill and Bar which was excellent - we were the only Americans there and the restaurant has a stunning view of the Bospherous Bridge and Asia all lit up at night. Upon arrival we were offered coffee and wine and were lended a Lonely Planet guidebook to use during our stay. The breakfasts were lovely and it was nice to people watch while eating outdoors. The hotel was safe, quiet and exceeded all of our expectations. We hope to return to Istanbul again and revisit the Millenium Suites.

This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in....anywhere. The rooms are spacious and very clean. There is no skimping on anything. Wonderful toiletries, free bar fridge and espresso coffee. Excellent buffet breakfast. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. I told them I was going to send for our cats and we'd move in! It was very pleasant sitting outside for breakfast, watching the street come alive. Great restaurants up and down the street. We look forward to going back.

All the good things you can read about this hotel are true . really a great experience . Simple hotel but managed in a way you feel at home . Some competitors worldwide should go there to remind themselves what is winning customer service . Nice rooms , great location , incredible welcoming staff . Really a gem . We will surely go back .

This hotel only has 7 rooms and is ideally located a short walk from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. The welcome from the staff was warm and we were given a drink while checking in, I stayed in room 201 which had a small terrace leading from the room. The room was good sized, cozily furnished and clean. The hotel arranged a personal tour guide for one day and gave us lots of suggestions for things to go and see as well as where to eat and drink. The minibar was stocked with soft drinks and local beer and was also complementary! The inclusive breakfast was Turkish style and fresh cooked eggs were on offer. As we booked via the website, a one way airport transfer was included in the price. We will definitely stay again at this hotel on our next visit to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Choose Room 201 - is at the back of the hotel (quiet) and has a small terrace

This hotel is a small gem, it is located on a quaint vibrant street with lots of restaurants and it is easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and the tram line. We arrived around Midday and were greeted by Taner who very quickly organised drinks for us and provided a wealth of information of how to get around the city and what too see. The rooms are very well laid out and they have king size beds which is a big plus. Breakfast is buffet style and the choices are excellent, all fresh local style food and freshly squeezed orange juice with eggs to order. This would have to be one of the best boutique style hotels that we have stayed in, on returning each day from sightseeing it was just like coming home. We stayed in room 201 and had a small outside terrace which was lovely, when returning to Istanbul we will definitely book this hotel again.

Our family of 4 stayed at Millennium Suites for 6 days in the summer and enjoyed it very much.

Location

The hotel has got a perfect locaion in the old town. It's only 5 minutes walk to Hagia Sophia, 10 to 15 minutes to the Blue Mosque, Underground Cistern, Archaeological Museum, Topkapi Palace etc. You can easily do most of the sight-seeing on foot. If you wish, you can walk to the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market as well. The tram stop is close by near Hagia Sophia, making the trip to Dolmabahce Palace an easy ride.

After a full day of walking and sight-seeing, it's very comforting to know that there are so many good restaurants on the same block as the hotel. When we were really tired, we just got on TripAdvisor, and picked one highly rated restaurant near by.

Room

It is a very small hotel with only 2 rooms on each floor. We had the two rooms on the 3rd floor. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The free wi-fi worked well in the room. The fridge was well stocked with complmentary drinks. There was also a kettle in the room. The hotel provided full range of toiletries which was nice.

Note there is no elevator in the hotel. It wasn't a problem for us but if you have leg problems, you may wish to request for the room on the ground floor.

Service

The arrival briefing by Alper was very informative. Throughout our stay, the service had been very warm and helpful. The staff did make us feel like family.

I would recommend booking the airport pickup and drop off through the hotel. The car service company the hotel uses is very professionally run. They use Mercedes van which is great if you have a large party and/or have a lot of luggages. It's EUR 30 each way, which to us is a good deal considering there are 4 of us and enough luggage to require 2 taxis otherwise.

Booking

We booked through the hotel's own website. We also opted for the cash payment option which gave us large discount making the room price very reasonable.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: There is no elevator in the hotel. Hence if you have leg problems, you may want to request the room...
