“Great location, excellent staff, good room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Millenium Suites for part of our honeymoon and could not have asked for a better hotel in Istanbul. Alper was a fabulous host and did not hesitate to offer us anything we needed during our stay. The hotel is located only blocks from the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Roman Cistern, so very convenient and along a quaint, quiet street lined with cafes. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Istanbul. In short, the rooms are very nice, the location is perfect and the staff is friendly, welcoming and make you feel at home. Thanks, Alper!

We travelled late June for a 4 days visit to Istanbul. My wife and I stayed at the Millennium suites Hotel. We were positively surprised by warm welcome by the manager. Room was nicely decorated and included a private terrace. Breakfast was average and people were very service oriented.

My first and by far my best experience of Turkish hospitality. I was travelling on my own at a time of some unrest in Istanbul but thanks to the attentive care and advice of the exceptional staff team, I explored this magnificent city with confidence and the best recommendations. I had a room on the 1st floor, street side and didn't find the vibrant street life to be too intrusive. The location was perfect for me, close to many of the key landmarks, the great tram system and on a lively, bustling street full of restaurants including Magnaura Cafe opposite that provides service to the hotel outdoor seating with good authentic food and the fun of watching the staff working their charm to attract new customers. I can only confirm the previous positive reviews by saying the staff at this boutique hotel provide a genuine, caring and outstanding experience that far exceeded the 5 star luxury hotels I stayed at on my travels. Unexpected coffee and biscuits to my room after an outing, a breakfast omelette with a smiley face and insightful discussions with staff about the political unrest in Turkey are all special memories from this very special hotel. Warmest appreciation and thanks to both the Alpers, Hanifi, Taner and the rest of the team.

Our first stay at this boutique hotel. It is handsomely managed and intimate in its service. Well located to Sultanahmet and the old city.

Rooms are well furnished and really comfortable. Space is adequate and inclusions are good.
Service is the ‘speciality of this house’ with all staff going out of their way to make one’s stay comfortable and supported. Nothing is too much trouble and the guidance is of a high quality. It has a family feel without being too familiar.....

Breakfast is light and adequate, and the evenings meals are enjoyable. The hotel has an arrangement with a neighbouring restaurant for dinner. The restaurant Magnaura rated in TripAdvisor’s top 150 of Istanbul’s 2300 or so restaurants provides the food and the servers.

We will come here again...definitely so because people like Tanner, Alpher and managing partner Alpher make this a great join to stay in......

We changed our itinerary to get to Istanbul one day earlier than planned and the hotel we had booked was full for this night, so we found good reviews on Millenium Suites and booked one night here. What a delight, and we wished we had had our 3 nights in Istanbul here. Millenium Suites is in the Old City of Istanbul in a street of hotels, cafes and restaurants, just a short walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc. We arrived just before noon and were welcomed by the manager and offered welcome drinks (tea, beer, or wine), snacks and then whisked to our room. The only downside to this small hotel of just 8 rooms is there is no lift and we were on the 4th floor. But, this was a very tiny price to pay. Our room was massive, huge beautiful comfortable king bed, very roomy bathroom with big range of bath products, complimentary mini bar with beer and soft drinks, heavy drapes, peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was served outside and was pretty comprehensive - fried eggs to order, muesli (even!), the rest typical Turkish. We did a stroll up and down the street looking at the restaurants for dinner, but finished up directly opposite for a lamb casserole. Quite nice. We can recommend Millenium Suites if you want a great stay in Istanbul. We understand this is a relatively new hotel and the beds, bath products etc are what the owners like and use. Oh, and our heavy suitcases were taken up and down the stairs by staff - dont you do it, we were told. How nice.

We stayed at Millenium Suites June 2013 and arrived after being in Venice. When we first landed, we quickly realized we were in the middle of a tourist street, which is not normally our preference, in fact we did cringe and think we had made a mistake! However, the pure and honest charm of Tanner and Alber and simply ALL of the people working there made the cringe evaporate immediately, and it did not return throughout our entire week. I have rarely experienced such lovely hotel staff, perhaps due the small scale of the hotel, or maybe just because they're nice! If you are looking to be amongst the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia, and the main tourist sites of Istanbul, this is the place to be. For other interesting parts of Istanbul it is very easy to catch the tram around so nothing was really a problem, though next time we would probably look at staying in around a different part, just for a different experience.

Room Tip: Our room was on the road side, but the windows are double glazed, so had not trouble with noise.
