“Small hotel with personal touch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2010

Very reasonably priced small hotel near the conference center that I was going to. Nice breakfast and hospitable staff.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2010

I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend for 4 days. it was extremely difficult for all of the taxis to find this hotel due to this being a new hotel and because all of the roads leading to the hotel were either under construction the entire time or blocked by various parked cars. Once we finding the hotel after our daily ventures we would have to be let out a block away and walk through dirt roads and unpaved sidewalks the remaining way to the hotel due to the previously mentioned conditions. The hotel décor is extremely nice from the outside, lobby, hallway (very small), elevator (even smaller), and the decor of the room (very small as well) all very nice. The service from the very few staff members was exceptional, and they were very tentative to our needs. Other than the Decor and the hospitality of the 3 or 4 staff members, I have nothing else good to say about this hotel. The room was extremely small, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, there was construction noise every morning as well as through out the day, the refrigerator was very small and barely kept its contents above room temperature. Upon our arrival to a very hot and stuffy hotel room, we set the air conditioner on 18 degrees Celsius and it blew minimal. The room was h until the second day of our trip. There was no ice to be found at the hotel. When we requested ice to chill our room tempeture drinks out of the fridge we were brought a cup of ice. One of the staff was kind enough to go to the local market and purchase us ice the second day, after which we just purchased our own ice daily. There were over 800 channels on the television but only 3 channels were in English and 2 of them only played English programs for a few hours in the evening and a hour or two in the mornings. The floors in the room were incredibly slippery, both my girl friend and I almost slipped and fell at least 6 times. Just didn’t like this hotel at all, had it not been for the staff who tried as much as they could to help us and the fact that we would only be there 4 nights we would have checked out and went to another hotel.

Thanks for kind words regarding our staff. In July 2010, the sidewalks were widened and the road was covered with cobblestone in our street. As usual for every kind of road construction, we had a messy few weeks, causing some inconveniences for our guests. However, we have a much more beautiful street now. Jazz Hotel is a 12-room “boutique hotel”, which makes it “small and intimate” by definition. Regardless, we still tried to maximize the use of space throughout our hotel. As a result, our rooms may be somewhat smaller than average by American standards, but they are quite larger than average by European standards. The mini-bars we use in our rooms are standard size mini-bars. We have guests from all over the world, speaking many native languages, including English. Therefore, we try to make everybody feel at home and offer over 1000 channels of TV/Radio broadcast in numerous languages. Kind Regards. Jazz Hotel Management.
