Just stayed 3 nights in this hotel on a shopping trip to Istanbul. It was a horrible experience all around.
Lets start with the things that were bad, but would be on its own somewhat acceptable:
The location is bad, in a noisy, dirty area of Istanbul. The rooms are too small. The AC cannot be adjusted, so its either too hot in the room (when its off) or too cold (when its on). I actually managed to get a cold in Istanbul in July due to this AC.
The outdoor pool is very small and shallow, the seating area around it far too narrow (you cant even walk around the pool). The indoor "spa" area is a dark dungeon. You are greeted by the staff smoking around the entrance of the spa area, a really nice welcome! The fitness area is a joke: 2 treadmills next to a miniscule indoor pool within a puddle of water. No surprise that the treadmills were turned off and could not be turned on. The breakfast is acceptable, at least something.
The really bad stuff: The shower was broken from the first day, you needed to fumble around with it for about 10mins to get it to work. We raised this on the first day to the staff, they did not manage to fix this for 3 days. They were not even really accepting the problem, as I got answers like: "Yeah, a lot of people complain about the showers, but they just don't know how to use them". The staff has no idea what customer service means. They also were not able or willing to recommend any eateries in the area, instead wanting to ship us off to a place about 30min away (with which the apparently have an agreement with). We looked on our own then, and found a couple of nice places around.
The worst: The night receptionist is easily the worst hotel employee I have ever encountered. Lazy, disinterested, rude and aggressive. Upon checkout, when I was disputing the minibar charges he actually threatened to call the police! This was not after a long discussion, but literally his first answer after me disputing the charges. We were talking about 11 Turkish Lira ...
Being in the taxi back to the airport was a relieve. Thankfully, we stayed only 3 nights.
Avoid this hotel!!!
Just avoid it !!!
