This hotel was a great find. I have stayed in the Sultanahmet area twice before and this was the best hotel by far. I wouldn't stay anywhere else after finding this gem. The location is perfect - right by the tram so you can get all over the city, and a brief walk to all the major sites. We checked in around 9am after flying all night and were given our room immediately. After a short nap and shower we were ready to go. On our way out the day manager offered to move us to a larger room (we had booked a standard room and were upgraded two categories) since they were not full. We accepted and quickly repacked and moved. Although our original room was very nice and well appointed, it was a little small for us with all the luggage we had from our 2+ week trip. The new room was perfect in size and just as interesting design-wise. Both rooms had a balcony, rain shower, shampoo, bath gel and lotion, flat screen TV, refrigerator, plenty of storage drawers, shelves and hangers, and adequate lighting. Our upgraded room additionally had robes and slippers, a shaving kit including a full size can of shaving cream and another balcony. All of the rooms are uniquely decorated and fun - interesting lights, furniture, wall paper, colors and decorator pieces.
Breakfast was included and was ordered off the menu. We enjoyed our selections both days. The restaurant is small and just as interesting design-wise as the rest of the hotel. Interesting chandeliers and accent pieces all over. The kitchen, which was spotless, is separated from the dining area by a glass partition so you can watch your food being made. We had dinner here one night and were happy with our meal. I had the mezze platter and he had them make a simple grilled chicken plate with potatoes. There was no problem handling special orders. Prices were reasonable. Soft jazz plays in the restaurant and it created a relaxing atmosphere.
The front desk staff were very helpful in answering questions and providing directions. We were so interested in the design aspects that we were given a tour of the other rooms. They are all so interesting and pretty. Each has a name and the room personifies the name. There is not a neglected spot in the hotel, even the elevator. One of the walls is glass and the wall is painted and decorated the whole way up, with each landing having a special display.
I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.
