As the many other reviews will attest, this is a great place to stay for numerous reasons in Istanbul. We would like to stress that the staff was the best thing about it. We had a couple of moderately serious problems of our own making that were handled by both Cagdas Turkoglu and Selcuk Vardar at the front desk, going way beyond what we could have expected and saved us a large amount of time, money and grief.

In addition, the same applies to the restaurant staff. In addition to great food and wine, they went out of their way to accommodate our very early departure and were extremely friendly and helpful.

We stayed 8 nights at the Senatus Hotel. It's a charming place, in the middle of all the must-sees. But also close to more mystic streets with old houses, the fishing harbor etc. etc. Really very centrally located. The rooms are very good, superclean, good beds, fast internet. We stayed a few nights in a room at the back side and the rest at the front side. Even though it's a street with many restaurants the room was very quiet due to the good isolation. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. We really felt being at home. A calm haven in a busy city, staying in this street it feels like being in a quiet village.

We really enjoyed our stay at Senatus Hotel, for the 3 nights we were in Istanbul. The room was very nice and the staff is very friendly. Be aware of the rooms which have street view, as they tend to be very noisy at night (which is normal for this area). With the breakfast we were not very delighted.

We stayed for 6 nights, and found the location to be perfect because we could walk to all the main sights. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, advising us on where to go; helping with Turkish phrases, and allowing us to check in online and print our boarding passes on the day before we left. Our room was at the back, so very quiet, and cleaned to a high standard every day.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter

We stayed in Istanbul for 4 days, the hotel is in a very convenient location which helps not getting lost on your way back. The rooms are very clean, modern and the whole building is very new. Apart from some noise at night (which is normal for the are) we had a pleasant stay.

A perfect location for a 3 nights stay in Istanbul, in the middle of Sultanahmet Area, during the day, we walked short distances to the attractions (sultanahmet mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, Basilica Cistern, grand bazar and sultan ahmet park), and in the night, we enjoyed walking to sultan ahmet park, and had dinner in the great restaurants of Akbiyik street (the hotel's street)

On our last night, we told the friendly front desk guy that we'll checkout by 4:30 A.M., so we need to have our breakfast earlier, they prepared us delicious Sandwiches to go.

Pros:
- Great location very close to sultanahmet attractions.
- A great selection of good restaurants are within 50 meter walking distance.
- Great service, and super friendly front desk staff.
- Free and tasty breakfast.

Cons:
- The AC will stop working when you leave the room, because you'll take the key card from the electricity switch.
- Safety box is NOT SAFE, it can be easily opened with a universal pin code!

Room Tip: Ask for an extra Key card, and use it to keep the power (A/C) when you leave the room, this is very...

Dear Alturki,

Thanks very much for your kind review about our hotel. We are very happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Meanwhile, due to your comment about the safety boxes, we adjusted all of them in the hotel; now they are much safer.
We will be glad to welcome you here for a longer stay next time.

Very nice boutique hotel. Close to Topkapi and Aya Sophia. It is located in a crowded street full of small restaurants and pubs but it is well isolated and quiet inside the rooms.
Modern and clean with a good breakfast buffet and helpful and friendly staff.
We only missed a lounge to stay in family but "Four seasons" Hotel is very close, they have beautiful saloons to sit and talk and having a drink and some appetizers results quite affordable (We recommend you a glass of good Raki and a cheese and melon dish)

Room Tip: The larger rooms in the front are specially confortable.
