“Superb, cosy stay in a central location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

This is my second time revisiting the same hotel simply because it is right smacked in the heart of most tourist attractions, pretty much a walking distance everywhere. The rooms are cozy, some are bigger than the rest. There are some renovation works ongoing during my stay but its only restricted to day hours. Superb breakfast buffet, staff is always so welcoming and accomodating. Thanks Ozgur for always making sure we are well looked after during breakfast > makes a perfect start to our day!

We stayed at the Hotel in April and it was a good decision.

We were looking for somewhere in the old city which was not too pricey - but still gave us the feeling of quality and service. The Hotel Sultania gives you this.

The Hotel is run very well from the Concierge, Waiters to the Cleaning staff. it was also good to have a lot of people in the Hotel speaking very good English. All the staff were extremely helpful and showed great respect and courtesy to all the guests. I would like to take them to every Hotel I stay - as they are top class.

The Hotel is within 15mins walking distance of all the sights, and we thoroughly enjoyed our days out exploring the streets. There are plenty of cafes / restaurants in the surrounding streets, and we enjoyed trying different ones each night.

We would definitely stay here again.

In summary it was the staff who made the difference, anyone can build a Hotel, but it takes time to build an organised team, with a high level of service and professionalism.

We stayed at Hotel Sultania after reading great reviews and deciding the location was perfect for seeing location attractions. Turned out to be the right choice!
This hotel is located in a non-traffic cobble-stoned street, easy walking distance to all the main mosques and attractions located in the Sultanhmet area. A little hard for taxi's to find though, so once your established direct them to something local more recognisable and walk from there.
Staff were very helpful, especially the cafe staff. Reception is welcoming and the key staff all introduced themselves to us on arrival. A great intro was made on check in and a quick intro to the area and how to get to local attractions was really helpful.
Our room was 1308 and first impression was neat, but small. We learned later this room is usually used as an adjointment to the next room, so next time we'd ask for a bigger room. Having said that it looked just like the pics online, very clean, well furnished and appropriately Turkishly decorated (very recently by the excellent condition of it) and functional. Bed was comfortable and there was a pillow menu if we needed a better sleep, but didn't. Our room was on level 3 and had a open window but no outside access, which would have been nice. The size and lack or balcony did make us feel a little claustrophobic at times. Outside noise did not bother us, all windows were also new and double glazed. Everything functioned well except the centrally set air conditioning system didn't allow us to change the room temp which was a little uncomfortably warm at times. Apparently the hotel is looking into a different system as one set temp does not suit everyone. The TV only had 2 english channels, which was a little boring.
Our package incl breakfast and the cafe downstair had an excellent buffet that was outstanding in choices. The staff were very good as well. We ventured to the rooftop bar (attached to the rooftop restaurant) which was quite hard to find but enjoyable when we got there. There were more than enough outside dining options within 2 mins walk of the hotel.
Overall, a great place to stay and nice relaxing environment to come home to after pounding the streets of Istanbul. I thought the room rate was slightly (about 20%) overpriced, but I guess there's a premium in there for its location which was excellent.

Room Tip: Although I asked for the highest room to avoid street noise (based on other TA comments), we got roo...

We spent 6nights here. Location was excellent with all the attractions of Sultanahmet within easy walking distance. Tram line is also very close . Room was a good size and very well cleaned by the house staff. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Good selection of restaurants around the hotel and their own restaurant on the 6th floor looking over to the water shouldn't be missed.

This is a really nice Hotel, excellent service and an extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are all named, and the design inside each room represent Turkish history/heritage. The hotel is located within 5-15 min walking distance to Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar.

The rooms were very clean, breakfast was really good and I can stress how nice the rooms are. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the old city.
